Hi,

Here is my issue. I press HACK on the UFC, set it to 1 minute, for example. I then press enter, but it starts counting from 57 seconds not 60? this happens for all setting, it doesn't begin at what I set it to.

Anybody know why it begins countdown lower than the setting?

Does it start immediately after pressing ? Maybe you lose 3 seconds before you press enter.

I've never used it so i don't know. Only guessing :-)

Checked the manual but i doesn't provide an answer. At least not for me.

Ya that's why i'v posted, couldn't find anything.

That was the initial conclusion I came to that it took 3 seconds from pressing the hack button to finally pressing enter when I was ready, but it's still the same for me even if I delay it

Razor,

I've just tried it once. I'm not using it the correct way i guess but still, this is what i notice.

When I press hack, enter 20 in the ufc and then press enter, I notice a delay for pressing Enter.

So when I wait three seconds, the countdown starts from 17, when I wait 6 seconds, it starts from 14.

So i presume it has something to do with this. I've not tested it thoroughly because i don't actually know the correct use of Hack. But it may be an indication of the problem.

Anyone from ED ?

Hack starts from the moment you hit the button. If you take 30 seconds to enter 1000 (10 mins) and then Enter it will display 9.30.

This is the correct use. In reality you may have a flight of 3, one calls Hack at which time you all press the HACK button. How long each pilot takes to type out the time and press Enter is not a factor and when they do each pilot will have exactly the same time displayed.

Anything that requires precise time coordination. The kind of feature that can be great but in the context of flying online it's rarely nessicarry (of course that depends on the type of people you fly with :D)

System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer

Here's a video showing the effective use of hack during a flyover.

Skip to 2:00 if you're in a hurry.

Incidentally, I see Virginia's Gov. is about to enjoy the game at 4:33.

2:00? Sorry, you lost me at 0:01.

Very Interesting video! But american football is so long, I can't get over that they can land, drive to the stadium and still make it in to the game! :P

Yeah, weird right. I assumed the game was at halftime or almost over.

Speed, don't hate ND. We did nothing to Earl Campbell. You should be mad at Alabama.:D

I am jealous of everybody who can keep DCS running that long in multiplayer ATM :D

The video is a great example of the time hack however only once! Essentially he did a hack at every minute cause the game plan with the band was going faster and faster ahead of schedule.

A note to take away from it is whoever is giving the hack to advise of the time hack. State time... Ready, Ready Hack then repeat the time of the hack.

Scenarios where you can see this for example is when working with ground forces and they requires tgts destroyed at specific times that support the ground scheme of maneuver or when working split flights or multiple flights and want simultaneous effects on multiple tgts for example. Practice is important.
