different measurements are accurate and the size of the holes, text / numbers / lines are properly positioned on the panels,NOT MIL SPEC

Panels are made from:

Frontplate 5mm/0,2inch Opal-White painted matte Black and engraved,Lightplate 3mm/0,12inch Opal-White, Backplate 2mm/0,08inch

clear.

 

*All panels are laser cut and laser engraved and can be backlit.

*Edges will not be painted

*Holes for Light Diode holder(6.5mm/0,26in only in Caution,Emergency,Sas Panel

*I will not milling down the oval holes

Yep, I'm with Hog on this. If you would be offering a CDU panel with buttons on option 2, I would be very interested!

Guys IMHO there is no way to produce a CDU with Buttons for $45 to 50 USD

and at 5mm its way to thin for every thing to fit

Ya, this panel making business is very time consuming and so many different variables to get it right. That is is why Mike a Vp charges $1300-1500 for a set of f-16 panels.

 

I would say a good cdu is worth at least $200 for the time it takes to make.

CDU Display Window. The display screen is a 10-line visual display of 24 characters per line. Line 1 displays the page label, active flight plan and steerpoint, DTSAS and EGI mode, and Figure of Merit (FOM). Line 2 is used primarily for annunciations. Lines 3 through 9 are used with the Line Select Keys (LSK). A scratchpad, with up to 15 enterable characters, occupies the left side of the 10th line (L10).

Each of these fields is distinguished by a L/R and 1-10 character.

As for the CDU, im trying to make a low cost cdu that most can afford. But it is difficult to balance low cost and good quality.

For this prototype i will not use a pcb, i will use the backplate to mount

the switches.

Then the buttons will have holes to fit the switches and it will fit an 4inch lcd.

I will keep working on it and hopefully there will be a cheap but good CDU in the near future.
