marcos Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) See title. Overshoot issue same as per civilian traffic. Aircraft was Tu-22M3. Wouldn't hit it whilst stationary either. Edited August 19, 2012 by marcos
marcos Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 Oh and this MiG-31 (static object) appears to be too tough. Note where 500lb bomb landed yet no damage at all.
marcos Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 The problem seems to be that the TGP lock always sits just above actual a/c.
joey45 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Is it in Point mode?? If so try in Track mode. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Razor5-1 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Make sure that the laser is firing from the TGP, without the range taken from the laser it will not give the distance to the object. but rather the ground behind the object.

I thought track mode was just when the point mode moves with the vehicle??? Didn't think laser was necessary with MAVs? Edited August 20, 2012 by marcos
marcos Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) Got a track of your attempted engagement? Attached. This time round I manage to kill the Backfire with 2 missiles but the first seemed like a near miss. When I aimed for a plane on the ground, I again had an overshoot. Same issue with AGM-65H. It makes the Backfire when launched from high altitude but overshoots the parked planes unless you fire almost directly down. Excuse my flying, I was watching the other views and forgot to active pause.New Track2.trkNew Track3.trk Edited August 20, 2012 by marcos
