ED Team Wags Posted November 16, 2005 ED Team Posted November 16, 2005 Many thanks Michael, I'll take a looksie. -Matt Wags: I have seen a some information on stick tension, saw it at the CH-Hangar (thanks Revvin). There is a quick information post HERE -> http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=508 But the way that worked out was you purchase the springs for the Pro Pedals and place them on the gimble mechanism. This does give you a stiffer feel. Me I like a light touch :D, can I say that on this board? Manny Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I'd bet that serious discussions are being made about a split throttle. One word: Suncom One product: F-15 SFS Feature: Split Throttle Suncom was the only company to model a Flight Controller on something other than the F-16. If CH steps to the table and provides a throttle better than their CH Pro Throttle ( I do not like it) and a new stick (other then an F-16 .. yuck) I would buy hands down. If CH decided to model the Flanker controller, I would invest in their stock.
BuzzU Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Don't you think stiffer springs on the Fighterstick would make it feel like the Cougar? It appears to have the same flat spot problem, but it's not as noticable because of the light springs. Buzz

Guest ruggbutt Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Suncom is out of business, and their gear is a bit flimsy but they had fantastic ideas. I think the split throttle would be a great first step towards gaining new customers.

The light springs (functional only because of the lightweight plastic construction) stop CH falling into the Cougar trap. Stiffen those springs and you (a) add to wear & tear on the plastic body, and (b) risk the same notchy mess the Cougar suffers from. It would require a total redesign and a higher price tag to make stiffer springs work as we'd want them to. And while I'd be happy to pay more for a "Fighterstick Pro", I doubt demand would be high enough to justify development and distribution costs. Andrew McP
DonULFonso Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Hm, yes, sounds like a good idea ;) : If CH would use stronger springs, some user could come up with a way to replace them with softer ones  ... and if CH then also would add some center play :( (and make it increase due to wear :o ), another user could come up with custom gimbals :p ... Modding for the modding's sake  , huh?
