It was never a competition. It was merely an attempt to teach you, after your apparent cluelessness as per post #7, that 40 000+ climb is very easily attainable provided that you do it right. I am glad to see that you have now realised that and have met with partial success.

 

Next step would be for you to master the descent and not plunge head-first into the ocean. Survival is usually a prerequisite for a successful lesson conclusion :thumbup:

47000ft. May have gone supersonic on the way down, not sure how changes in temperature at sea level affect tropopause temperature. The controls did freeze though but made a stunning recovery around 1000ft.

 

Got promoted to Lt. Col. Not sure if related.
