I haven't seen any DCS GIFS yet.

By the way, all of these were created using this site, don't put in the time stamp in the boxes below, its still in beta, instead you drag the sliders together to form a 15 second max gif. It's awesome and free!!

PS: Obviously all of these gifs were created using my own youtube videos, if you are interested, youtube my name "ralfidude" and check me out there. Cheers.

That particular shot!

It's so cool.

I've always wondered how GA manages to get a plane locked and then a missile without interruption. So GA, if you read this, could you explain?

Ah I remember that one. I know there's a key you can press that will make the camera look at missiles, and bombs etc, I just cant remember that key right now, as I havent really used it since I made that movie.

But the scene was made of 2 parts, first tracking the plane, and the other part where I was tracking the mav. And during editing, the 2 shots were alligned perfectly to make the transition seamless. :)

*Edit - and I never moved the camera, it was in that same spot all the time.

Thanks for clarifying.

The idea to separate it and then connect the shots again was the solution I was thinking of to get that shot. So unfortunately no key combination to lock a missile when it is still on the rail.

It looks way better when not locked anyways! Let the missile lead, catch up and re-frame with appropriate handheld and shake and don't anticipate unless by accident for moments and overshoot on course changes or target hit followed by re-framing etc.

You proved in the past you have the tools and the hand for those camera moves :)

But I guess it would be easier to have the locked possibility and then crop in and do all this re-framing and handheld on top.

Ralfi, love your videos on youtube, and these gifs are awesome, but I don't recognise the one where you're landing with the shortest (read: non existant) final ever. The colours are really great, and the vignette/blur. Also, the second last one... I thought the plummeting plane was shot from a cinematic camera, really cool to snap down and see the cockpit. Fantastic.

The landing part was from my "my fuel level is master caution" I was messing with the blur effects and over did it significantly hahaha.

But yes, that other clip is from our fc2 dogfighting, i particularly loved that shot, because he was an enemy that was messing around diving to the ground right after shooting a friend of mine and im not sure he even knew i was there, hosed his ass later, revenge is bitter sweet.
