HIi,

Was looking allot but couldn't find a helpful answer to why my MS FF2 doesn't have feedback on DCS A10?

My other friend reports no problem with MSFF2, while I only feel the trimming in the A10.

I have the latest DCS world with A10C.

Very frustrating...!! :joystick:

It works fine on BMS etc'.

[Win 7/64]

Any help will be appreciated!!

Did you check the enable FF option in DCS World?

Sure...

I have some technical knowledge, and usually I fix my problems, but this one seems to elude me...

I went through this too... I expected some buffet effects and such, but there aren't any effects like that for the A-10. The only forces you'll get are trim forces, extra centering force with increased speed, and the stick shaker when the gear/flaps are down.

still no-joy...

That's odd, since, as I said before, my friends DO feel buffeting and gun fire effects with their FF2.

Today I moved it to another usb port, and changed the shaker force to 100 (in game), and for a brief flight I DID feel buffet effects! no gear flaps or guns effects though.

After crashing the plane and re-flying - the effects were gone....

So it is there... but highly unreliable for some.

I would appreciate more inputs. Thanks!!

I do not have Force Feedback controllers, but the Su-25T is quite visually noticeable in close to wing stall conditions, even at higher speeds while turning and also noticeable in close to overspeed conditions. I have the CH Products typical trilogy. I can just feel by sight the Su-25T being cumbersome even compared to the DCS Warthog or BS1 or BS2. Su-25T takes almost the entire takeoff airport strip before becoming airborne, especially loaded out. Must not have the Rolls Royce engines...

(Your experience and different computer / hardware may prove different.)

World is still in the beta process.

At 103% weight, the T-Toad is airborne in 3600 feet. With the shortest DCS RW being at 5900 feet, you see that there is ample space to get the Toad in the air.

Your friends have no problem and have FFB in the A-10C, others have it and you had it, albeit for a very short time, indicating that it is probably a systems fault on your end.

With that in mind, have you uninstalled, deleted the Saved Games folder and all other leftover folders and reinstalled the SIM in an attempt to remedy the issue?

I have uninstalled but not fully - without the saved games folder,

didn't want to lose all the HOTAS configs I've made.

Can I save it somehow and put it back without overriding the fresh install?

Also, are there more files to delete to fully uninstall??

Thanks.

Ron,

please read this:

Stick shake with force feedback?

Keep in mind that the A-10 is "very slow" and the pilot is assisted by hydraulic actuators while moving the the stick.

- And I'm very sure that it is similar in the Real one - I cant imagine that the the engineers that have installed the hydraulic actuators decided that the pilot should have a "hard time" to move the stick in some conditions.

To feel a significant change in the stiffness you have to make a dive and reach above 280 or switch the hydraulic off.

Here are the main features you get from FFB in the A-10C:

So what you calling "NO FF in the A10C" , I would putin the "Holywood-effects" corner.

The provided FFB on the stick in the A-10C is exactly what I would expect to feel at my Stick-hand in the real thing.

When you look out for constant vibration and/or shaking when firing the Gun - please read here:

DCS - Force feedback but no rumble?

Rumbling? - Why not!

But please only where it belongs !!

=To the chair you are sitting on.

Look what can happen when a "effect" is added only to the FFB stick:

icon5.gif Fine-tune FFB gun effect for the Su-25T

So- When you want to have a rumbling chair + stick :

Build a rumbling platform with a modified subwoofer and put your gear on it.

But don't add effects that you feel mainly with your back only to a FFB-Stick...

This causes just too much trouble for small fine-adjustments and puts to much stress on the FFB motors .

@Peter

Are you suggesting no FF should be in the A10, or that there is none, except trim?

Well , there are guys that have all those effects, and I want it as well for the main reason

that I have no other "connection" to the plane and feel of flying, except visual cue's and its' not really enough.

In BMS on an FBW F16 where there is no stick shake at all - I still do enable FF just to "feel" the planes energy,

a real F16 pilot feels his plane with his entire body, and yet the stick doesn't move. it doesn't have to...

FF compensates that for me somewhat via the stick.

Definitely not "Hollywood Style" here for me.

And if it is implemented in DCS A10, then I want it working for the above reasons,

and I understand that it is, so help figure out how to enable it back...

Thanks.

Update: I have now Uninstalled an deleted all leftovers in the system,

Re installed and no change, the A10C still doesn't have FF effects other than trim.

Su25 is working with FF as well as other games, So I can rule out joystick malfunction,

but with a new fresh installation I don't know what to say/do now...

Ideas??

I'd say it sounds like it's working as advertised.

Don't get me wrong, I'd personally prefer the feel of the aircraft at the expense of reality.

However, the fact remains: The A-10C module has no FFB effects other than those previously mentioned.

Are you sure?? when I hear other's reports,

and also I felt, briefly, buffeting (I did not feel gear/flaps/gun though)...

I'm not sure what to expect now...

Has ED published somewhere an official take on this? what forces are implemented in the game for each aircraft?

It will be nice if we can get official 'release notes' and not guess what's right or a bug here...
