Hi guys,

I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to successfully setup my MFDs with my monitor. It is a Dell U3011 and I cannot figure out how to make a correct lua file for the MFDs. This is very frustrating as I've been at it for a couple hours. Could somebody please help me with the lua file? Thanks!

I'm working with nativer 2560x1600 res, and I know that you need to add the width dimensions of the lilliputs ( in this case 800+800=1600, so I changed the res to 4160x1600) Beyond this I don't know what to do, I can't figure out the proper x and y coordinates for the left and right mfds in the A10C

christ this is getting ridiculous. Can somebody with a similar setup PEALSE help? I cannot figure this out. Only one of my monitors will display the game, the other only my desktop and that is with the lmfcd plus center plus rmfcd profile selected. I would really really appreciate some help!

I CANNOT DO THIS. I have been trying for literally 4 hours. I don't understand what the hell I'm doing wrong. Can somebody share theirs or walk me through the process? I just got a new desktop and these mfds and displays were something I was really looking forward to using with my father! Can somebody please help?

message sent. I tried to launch a10c from one of the mini-monitors after I made it my main and ended up having to download new drivers for my gtx 690 due to a conflict. Everything is back to normal though, but I'm really scared to proceed on my own considering this desktop is just over a week old! Please, please if anyone can provide assistance, I would be overjoyed. Trying to export the two MFCDs (TAD page and CDU repeater) to two separate lilliput 8 inch c/t mini-monitors. Working with a resolution of 2560x1600. Any and all help is genuinely appreciated!

hmmmm, my problem seems to concern the x and y coords of the MFCDs. In my virtual monitor dispaly I have one lilliput, then the main Dell U3011, then one more lilliput. Problem is, I can't really get the left mfcd to display at all and the right one is just barely there. Also, not sure if I should be in landscape or portrait. I really need help here guys!

You need to rearrange your monitors in windows desktop properties and make your main monitor as most top/left then readjust your X/Y coordinates in monitor lua file, it should work then

I got your PM.. and can help BUT you need to clearly describe your monitor setup:

Physical layout & virtual layout in window & monitor resolutions.:

Screen shot like this would really help.

monitorsetupwindows.PNG

From what you have said this is not clear to me.

Got it. Will have a screenshot shortly. I gotta get some sleep. Tommy and others, thank you SO MUCH. I've literally been working on this since 2:00 EST yesterday, it's now 8:00 AM and I'm real frazzeled. Tommy, thank you very much for taking the time to help me, it is genuinely, genuinely appreciated. :)

You need your main monitor as your left most monitor, then your desktop extended to the 2 screens side by side to the right of your main display. It doesn't matter where they physically are on your desk, your main display has to be setup as the left most monitor as the x/y coordinates start from the top left corner at 0,0.

For your x/y coordinates your main screen will be 0,0 so that the cockpit displays properly.

Since your main monitor is 2560 pixels across the x/y for your first mfd would be x=2561 and the y=0.

for your second mfd you add the 800 pixel width to your first so x=3361.

Does that make sense?

Hi - here is a tip for you:

Arrange the desktop like the green square.

attachment.php?attachmentid=62669&stc=1&d=1329156152

even if there is "Nothing" shown on it- this "nothing" is over 800.000 px big and has to be calculated each frame (this takes some cycles) and than transported through the v-ram.

I believe so dayglow and Peterp, I will check this out in the next 15 min (on laptop right now).

I appreciate the help dayglow and PeterP, I think I might understand, will let you know as soon as possible (believe it won't be long, I'm really focused on solving this problem.

Below the quick reply area you can use the Manage Attachments button at the bottom. Add the screenshot as an attachment.

oh shit, there's one of those duh momets for sure eh? Thanks Tommy! About 20 minutes and I'll get that image to you. Just for typings sake, right now I believe I have them incorrect. In display link I have lilliput one as left most, followed by Dell U3011 followed by lilliput two. Not right according to you guys. I'll post the shot in just a few minutes, but at least its something to visualize. My overall resolution is set to 4160 (800+2560+800) x 1600 (height does not change)

Yes, you need the U3011 first (left most) then the 2 lilliputs side by side in the display settings to the right, so 2560+800+800.

DCS doesn't care how many monitors are attached to the computer as it only renders one large scene to display across all your monitors. So your in game rez has to be the 4160x1600

In this one large canvus of 4160 you tell it to display the main screen starting at the top left corner (x=0,y=0) and the height=1600 and width=2560. This will then fill your main monitor with the cockpit like a normal single monitor setup.

You then define the first mfd of having x=2561 and y=0 with height=600 and width=800. DCS still sees this as a single large display, but it will show the mfd on your second monitor.

Finally you give the 3rd monitor an x=3361 and everything else the same.
