Try this, or go get Helios.

Oh i already know how to do that. But I only know how to do it with mfcds. I tried moving over other stuff but they dont appear in game.

I moved the MFCD's by editing the 2 mfcd lua file that already existed. I simply changed the size and location (moving each one over to their positions on their own monitors.

Will helios work with dcs world ?

I was under the impression that helios had to do with touch screens. I downloaded it, and checking out the manual now. I think I can do "Here is all you need to know.." bit easily, but the helios is still confusing.

Helios is a general display tech for exporting stuff from the game. You can touch them, or not, doesn't really matter.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

Now.... to figure out how to work helios...

OK i was there,

I dont have a touch screen!

All the touch screen does is allow your finger to replicate the mouse. You can use Helios with any monitor and use a mouse to operate any switches, just like the in sim cockpit.

In order to better understand Helios, I recommend downloading one of the profiles available on Gadroc's site. Once you open it up in the editor, you can more easily understand how it works.

Is this the entire "manual" ?

Touch Screen Setup

Windows 7 has great built in support for touch screens, but not all of the default options work well with Helios. It is highly recommended that you follow these instructions to property setup your touch screens for Helios.

Note: Not all monitors are recognized as touch screens by Windows. If your touch screens do not respond to these settings, but still work to move your mouse around you need to follow the manufacturer’s directions for setting up and calibrating your touch screen.. In particular TouchKit based controls do not require these steps.

Associate Touch Screen with Monitor

Windows needs to understand which monitor is your touch screen. If your mouse moves on another screen when you click on your touch screen you need to execute this step.

From the start menu select “Control Panel” then open the “Tablet PC Settings” control panel.

Click on the Setup button and follow the instructions on screen. Take special note to press enter without tapping your touchscreen when the message is displayed on normal monitors.

Disable Input Panel Tab

Windows 7 has features to help you use your touch screen as a primary input device. Unfortunately these can get in the way and cause problems when using Helios to play a game. We can disable this input panel tab to prevent it from showing up when we don’t want it.

While you have the “Table PC Settings” window open, click on the tab labeled “Other” and then click on “Go to Input Panel Settings”.

Now uncheck the “Use the Input Panel tab” option and click the Ok button.

Disable Auto Right Click

By default Windows right clicks when you touch and hold on a touch screen. This is great for interacting with Windows explorer or other regular applications, but causes problems when you are trying to hold down a lamp test or MFD button. Luckily we can change this behavior as well.

From the start menu select “Control Panel” then open the “Pen and Touch” control panel.

On the Pen Options tab click on the Press and Hold pen action and then click on the “Settings” button.

Uncheck “Enable press and hold for right-clicking” then click the OK button.

Switch to the Flicks tab and uncheck the “Use flicks to perform common actions quickly and easily”. You can also uncheck “Display flicks icon in the notification area” if you want.

Next, switch to the Touch tab.

Click on the Press and hold touch action and then click on the “Settings” button.

Uncheck “Enable press and hold for right-clicking” and then click the OK button.

Now close the Pen and Touch control panel by clicking the OK button.

I click on manual and i see

System requirments .. ok

File system layout.. ok

Touch screen setup .. ok

Where is the manual?

I ran into trouble already.

I only have 3 monitors, and all are being used by nvidia surround.

For example, I loaded up the LOZ SM V2.1 module (per your advice of downloading a module and seeing how it works), and Im following the instructions in the manual, and when I try and start the module in control center I get this message :

"Can not display this profile because it has an invalid monitor configuration. Please open the editor and select reset monitors ..."

Ok I do that, and it only shows one 5760x1200 monitor (which is the 3 monitors being run in sli surround), and the end result is I still can not start the program.

Can you plz tell me what I have to do at this point ? (or is it not possible to use helios with my setup which is for all intents and purposes a single 5760x1200 monitor?

If you want to keep your current display then a fourth monitor will be required. Helios needs a display to use.

The error you are getting would come up if you did that with any display other than the resolution the profile was designed for. In the editor you can just tell it not to change it. If you try to run it, however, you will need a display configuration that make a screen available to helios.

If I install a fourth monitor does all the helios stuff have to be on that monitor?

I love this thing where I can turn off the huds in the primary monitor, but Im not used to the missing buttons :/

You can tell Helios to use any one, part of one, or even several monitors. I am not sure I understand the question. If you are asking about Helios using your primary monitor, I guess it could but the value would be limited.

What im trying to figure out is if i can load up the helios crap on the 5760x1200 display, which is unseperable because it is part of surround, and have a 4th monitor just so helios will run. I want to keep my 3 monitor setup pretty much the same, but WITH the button functions that helios can provide (like adding buttons to my mfcd's for example).

EDIT.. OK ... it just clicked..

I cant use sli which is fine i think.

Sounds like your sorted. You can run the control center and profile editor on any monitor available including a 4th helios display. Ultimately when you run the profile it should be set to display on the 4th monitor.

Windows 7/10 64bit, Intel i7-4770K 3.9GHZ, 32 GB Ram, Gforce GTX 1080Ti, 11GB GDDR5 Valve Index. Force IPD 63 (for the F-16)
