IvanK Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 (edited) Just installed DCS 1.2.1 and P51 1.2.1 Trying to set up controls, CH Stick and Throttle Saitek pedals. When I try to assign axis to Pitch roll and yaw none of the controls are being picked up. Any clues on this would be gratefully accepted. EDIT Fixed ... I got a little to smart and tried to use a P51 settings LUA from an earlier version with 1.2.1 it didnt like it ! A Re install and back in business. Just a pain to re work all the keybindings again. 50Call I to think the smoke effects from the 50 Call is overdone. Youtube video of P40 firing blanks at NZ Air show: Edited October 7, 2012 by IvanK
Echo38 Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 (edited) The bailing out animation is too abrupt. The previous one was more realistic, and it also looked cooler. In 1.2.0, the virtual pilot took a second or two to unstrap and climb up out of the seat before leaving the cockpit, just like in real life. Now he pretty much teleports out, like in the old flying games of the late '90s and early 2000s. Bit of a step backward for realism & immersion. The DCS: P51D beta had the best bailing-out animation I've ever seen in any flight sim. I can't tell for sure whether or not it's changed in 1.2.1, but it certainly seems a lot faster now. Slowing it down to a realistic speed would do wonders; one can't simply rocket out of a real P-51D like this. Edited October 7, 2012 by Echo38
Simas Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Is this supposed to happen? Made a simple mission in the editor for AI P-51D to fly from point A to point B. It took off, got the gears up, but not the undercarriage doors. And flew like this..
Echo38 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Sounds like a mechanical failure, or perhaps you accidentally bumped the emergency release thing?
DDSSTT Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I have been seeing the same over the last few missions i've played but it has been the AI who lowered the flaring doors sometime in mid dog fight. The weid thing is I replayed my last track the doors did not come down...? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.csg-2.net/
VH-Rock Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I have been seeing the same over the last few missions i've played but it has been the AI who lowered the flaring doors sometime in mid dog fight. Possible that you shot out his hydraulic system? Virtual Horsemen - Right Wing (P-51) - 2008... Virtual Ultimate Fighters - Lead (P-47) - 2020...
DDSSTT Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Possible that you shot out his hydraulic system? Its Possible... but I have seen it on both my mission I made with 18 vs 18 dog fight and on the instant action 1 vs 1 (but i noticed it was down before I even got a chance to shoot) when I went back and replayed that track it was up. xialoss Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I dont know if it's a bug, or if it's just me, but i can't load the training missions for P-51D. The game crashes during the loading screen.
Echo38 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 The bailing out animation is too abrupt. The previous one was more realistic, and it also looked cooler. I should amend this: during flight, the bailing out animation is as good as ever. It's when you're stationary on the ground that you appear to teleport out.
