whkinsey Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Games did not appear to be working right after updating DCS, so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now DCS doesn't recognize that I have already paid for three modules. How do I get it to recognize the three modules I have purchased?
SmokeyTheLung Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Did you install the modules after you installed the new version of world? System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
whkinsey Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 I had two of the modules installed. Then I installed the first version of DCS. I don't remember how I got the modules to activate for the first installation. I then purchased the P-51 module and it was recognized. Then I updated, and started having issues, so I uninstalled and reinstalled DCS to latest version. That is where I am at, with it not seeing purchased modules.
PeterP Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 DCS 1.2.1 Now Available Installation Uninstall all previous DCS products prior to versions 1.2.1 Note: Deactivate your products! To be safe, delete \Saved Games\DCS files Install DCS World 1.2.1 Install each new DCS module (1.2.1 or latest Beta version)
whkinsey Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 Thank you for the info. I will give that a try tomorrow. Late here now. I guess that will eat up one of my activations?
BigfootMSR Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 If you deactivate your all your products before installing into the new dcs world 1.2.1 then no, it wont use an activation. However, I have heard that ED will be reimbursing an activation for those who had one taken up by the 1.2.1 version. ENO Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Some people have uninstalled world 1.2 to install 1.2.1 but not uninstalled their modules. Then they're going in with 1.2 modules playing on 1.2.1 world servers. The results are pretty disturbing -leading To a number of panic situations and ambiguous troubleshooting experiences. Interestingly with an experience I had with someone yesterday- he was able to get in game but had air starts with shut down planes- weird graphics glitches and crashes to desktop... Not just a "wrong version" error or anything. Also with multiple patches coming out at a time- has anyone figured out an efficient way of loading all of these patches? Or- if there is no blanket "not running same version" error that prohibits entry into a server... How can we tell which batch we are joining to save from the unstable performance? All just questions- I'm quite excited about the improvements. Don't forget to uninstall ALL your 1.2 stuff and reinstall ALL your modules! "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
flyingscotsman Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 I have not been able to get this working after installing 1.2.1 I uninstalled DCS World 1.2, unistalled. I had the same problem with the cd versions last time, but cannot recall the fix, I had to sign in somewhere to prove my cd's were valid Anyway, I have uninstalled my A10C & Blackshark. Then installed DCS 1.2.1,On the last attempt it came up with there is ANOTHER update, I elected to install it. Then put the cd's in, and after that update to Blackshark 2 and all the updates to A10c 1.1.1. After Blackshark installed I took a look at the folder structure and blackshark was scattered over the Eagle Dynamics folder. So currently uninstalling blackshark yet again and trying once more. Blackshark appears as paid for in DCS, a10c has the icon to buy. I have not deactivated anything. The cd's take an age to load and I've done this about 3 times now If the current update /install does not work I will deactivate, then uninstall and install again. Not the way I wanted to spend my day off. Brilliant sim when its working, Not much fun during these patches
Nate--IRL-- Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Some people have uninstalled world 1.2 to install 1.2.1 but not uninstalled their modules. Modules are uninstalled with World - it is not possible to uninstall modules individually. If you people are experiencing missing cockpits it means the module has not installed correctly. To remedy, install the module that is missing - then run the repair function in the DCS start menu entry. cichlidfan Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Modules are uninstalled with World - it is not possible to uninstall modules individually. I would still go back, after installation and make sure to delete the installation folder. Any added files, skins, etc. wil still be in the installation folder. flyingscotsman Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Progress, of sorts Hi, I have installed DCS World, 1.2.1, then BS & BS2 plus patches, then A-10C. BS is recognised and inidcates no payment necessary, A-10C still has payment sign, I paid out for the CD's so is it registred again if I authorise/deauthorise? Thank you
flyingscotsman Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Progress halted, does not work Hi, Well it looked like Blackshark would load up, I made a new mission, but when it tries to load, it fails with," DCS has stopped working, Ms trying to find a solution" and the game terminates Any ideas
flyingscotsman Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Thank you to VIPER and all who have patiently laid out how to get this working. Don't know if anyone else had problems with dcs bs1 discs not installing properly, I bought the download version, a-10 discs work, and followed Vipers instruction to download the correct modules for each game, SORTED! THANK YOU
