Annoying activation boxes on new dcs world

Hi, have uninstalled the old and installed new dcs world and all modules, I have only ever purchased a10c and BS1 (via steam) and BS2 (via DCS). My a10c key was auto filled into box when running dcs and works. Key for Bs2 was auto filled but does not work says hardware key incorrect but have mailed dcs to sort as read a post saying to do this. What's annoying is every time I do a mission I get all the key activation boxes come up one after another and have to keep exiting the boxes as i have not purchased all dcs sims just above ones, this only takes 30 seconds to do but is still annoying as have to keep exiting the other dcs key activation boxes before game loads, anyway of stopping or turning this off?

You can make it go away through removing the Ka-50 folder from the DCS install, which is at .\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\

 

Hardware key incorrect can be solved through removing the registry entry for Black Shark 2: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Troubleshooting:starforce:5.x#Something_strange_with_your_serial_number_or_activation_problems.3F

Thanks for reply, I don't want to delete bs2 but its just the combined arms and p51 activation box that keeps popping up so do I do the same as you said above but just delete the sims i do t own, not the ka50 ? Also I will try the hardware key correct thing when I finish work and hopefully that will sort that prob

hi, i have made the unwanted activation boxes go away but with regards to the bs2 hardware code prob i think this may be the prob, i purchased bs1 via steam on the old pc and bs2 via dcs on the new pc is this maybe why hardware code is invalid? if so how do i go about solving that so can get bs2 running on current pc. i have looked at the link and tried putting in current serial key and hardware code i have but it just keeps saying correct on that to?

I could be wrong, but I believe if you purchased the BS2 upgrade version, you must still have BS1 installed at the time of activation...

 

Maybe try d/l'ing and installing BS1 form DCS, use the key you got from Steam to activate BS1, then try to activate BS2 upgrade?

 

I would guess you could uninstall BS1 afterward, but you'd have to reinstall/reactivate if you ever want to reactivate BS2 upgrade again...

You need to re install the bs1 on steam. I take it you don't have it installed on your new machine. Anyways, that what I had to do and all is good now.

I can't believe in 2012 an annoying and odd activation system like this, this should be canged, because problems dectivation needed even if i just want to change my VGA, 'cmon we're in 2012 just find another way such as DRM or another method the one you want but change this 90's awful thing, i restarded after installing my brand new gtx680 and i spent another activation, because i forgot to deactivate, this is very annoying, can you please find another user friendly way...? this is the worst of DCS series

 

Edit: there are tons of ways now to avoid piracy, i believe before to make another module, just find an alternative way for activation without activation/deactivation things, and maybe auto activation after buying a module without to insert a serial key, i repeat we're in 2012 if i want to change my hardware i want to be free to do it without to think to deactivate reactivate this boring thing.. such as other simulators/games

 

I registered on the forums today just to ask for this, i play DCS from when it wasn't DCS from the times of the 1st LOMAC by ubi, because i'm very annoyed by this thing

yes, we are in 2012 (and with luck, we'll get to 2013 after Dec 21 :music_whistling: )

 

There isn't any need to "de-activate" the sim to swap the VGA on your rig...

 

The method of online activation/ de-activation works quite well and more companies should employ it.

Really would you like to compare this to Steam and BS1 no need for activation and it is strictly related to my steam account, and no problems like to after installe dcs world 2.1.2 no bs2 activation refused by server and i can't still activate it and i'm very angry for this issue and after redownloaded 6 and more gigs considering my slow connection and connection volume to 10 gbs per mounth :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

The hardware code error probably indicates that the serial number doesn't match the product. You may have installed BS2 "full" instead of BS2 "upgrade".

 

Full installation procedure for DCS 1.2.1 with BS2 upgrade license is:

- Install BS1 and activate using BS1 key

- Install DCS World 1.2.1 (DCS_World_en_1.2.1.5970.exe)

- Install BS2 Upgrade 1.2.1 and activate using BS2 upgrade key --> KA-50_bsupd_1.2.1.5970.exe (not BS2 full!)

 

If you encounter BS2 activation errors after auto updates are installed, run the BS2 upgrade installer again and run the repair function (from the start menu)

Thank you very much but i solved uninstalling everything and putting everything in the trash and deleting all reg keys, and pass on dcs world untill it is fixed properly, now i believe i stay for a while on a WW1 fly sim....
