Gecko6 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 (edited) This pic was from tonight's testing of lights and afterburner effects. These are still WIP but I really like how this turned out. Still need quite a few more lights and effect tweaks but I wanted to share with you now. Enjoy! To Keep up with our progress feel free to visit our page on Facebook. i will make a point to post it the ED forums till we get our own in the Dev Section. http://www.facebook.com/VRCF100 Edited November 15, 2012 by Gecko6 Fixed Typo

kobac Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Looks nice, just to add some color tints from bluish to orange - red. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Everything is possible ...
SkateZilla Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 (edited) Yes, originally it was DEEP orange, but was too deep and too opague. I dropped the RGB and Alpha Layer a large amount to see how it would render in the Engine. (which is when the screenshot was taken). The mesh will prolly be re-structured and more detail added so the egdes arent as "hard" as they appear in the above screenshot, i want a more faded/soft edge.. and some noise to make it appear to have high velocity movement. With the Heatblur On it looks Gorgeous, once the Heat Blur fades and turns off at speed the AB looks kinda lifeless. which is where the velocity texture effects will come in. It's still a WIP, So any feedback is appreciated. (dont be afraid to say "it sucks skate, re-do it"). lol Edited November 15, 2012 by SkateZilla Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Kuky Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 My feedback would be, good work so far, I would only change afterburner texture to be just a little blurrier at the edges, right now they look little too sharp to me PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Megagoth1702 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Great work and props for modding DCS. But I gotta give honest criticism - the streaks exiting the engine are too sharp, too thin and there are too many. I have never seen a video or picture where the afterburner cone was that sharp. SkateZilla Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 it was a place holder texture while i test different methods. its by no means the final setup.
