GGTharos Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 @Sov13t Also often the problem with modeling this sort of interaction is that you need technical manuals, not pilot operator manuals ... and often the technical manuals can be harder to get. This is easily true of western planes also. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
GGTharos Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 If I don't forget ... you might have better luck googling it ... try MiG-29 operator's manual or Su-27SK operator's manual. It is probably available somewhere. Can you post that manual (if it is in digital form) please :) About stuff: It's not that i don't trust you or ED, its that i wanted this thread to stay clean of "I head it somewhere" or "some guy told me". Like i said numerous times i posted what i found, and if you have more accurate info please post. I'm not saying that my stuff is right, it's just that i didn't find anything other that that. pepin1234 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 (edited) Why dose it not get implemented then on Russian birds? simple stuff that are in the manual that would make it easier for Russian birds, but everything we see dose only make Russian birds and missiles more realistic :) I have lost faith in ED, They will get what they want by having only American birds that can compete witch will make this sim like Jane's F-15/F-18 good times. seem that ED have dicided keep the Russian Birds downgraded, maybe to get some new customers. Then the comunity should do the work of the testers and we have gotten a long list of bugs in the russian fighters. Yesterday was my first flight with the Su-33 and just staying in the cockpit the first 10 sec we can see that the Su-33 have the pylons computing of the Su-27. GGTharos Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Because that is how it is in the real Su-33. Maybe you shouldn't be accusing people of things when you don't know any better yourself. pepin1234 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 all right, then that mean we had flight the FC2 with this wrong detail??? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
159th_Viper Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 all right, then that mean we had flight the FC2 with this wrong detail??? And? Did it hurt you? Did it detract from your experience? Did you even bring it up before so that it could be investigated? You must have because you are making a good meal of it atm. In any event, it's already in the Bug thread #85. GGTharos Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Yes pepin, that is correct. Same way the F-15 TWS was restricted to 60 deg AZ for example, even though we had 120 before (although arguably this is only true for 80's eagles, but we'll live :) ) all right, then that mean we had flight the FC2 with this wrong detail??? Darkwolf Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Hello all, I'm not sure i post in the right place - but as it goes down to missile talks.... Where are all the missiles from Lock On ? Back then in Lock on, if i remember well, they were a AR R27, and a SARH R27 with 110km range. Is they a reason why they got out of the place ? Thank you for the answer ! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] PC simulator news site. Also....Join the largest DCS community on Facebook :pilotfly:
GGTharos Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Yes, there is a reason. R-27EA and EM were not manufactured or at least not used operationally in reality (EA is the active variant, EM was a Su-33 over-seas specific variant). The 110km range is an extreme: It describes the range of the missile launched at 15km altitude from an aircraft going Mach 2 against another, non-maneuvering aircraft at the same altitude going mach 2. IvanK Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 (edited) Interesting statement by Sovt13t: " for single target tracking one provides target telemetry for launches the second even more precise/stronger for missile guidance and painting and this is only activated after launch and runs for 60 seconds)" Here then lies your trigger for a Missile launch warning for the target. Also Sovt is telling us the EOS (certainly on the SU27) is slewable in elevation... something it was up until FC3 perhaps this needs to be re looked at by the devs. Not having a slewable EOS dramatically (imo) reduces its effectiveness in game. "Yes, the 27 has two modes Wide and Narrow. Wide mode provides a scan zone of 60˚x10˚ and can be slewed ±30˚ in azimuth and from -10˚ to 55˚ in vertical. Narrow mode provides a scan zone of 20˚x5˚ and can be slewed ±50˚ in azimuth and from -12.5˚ to +57.5˚ in vertical plane." Edited November 15, 2012 by IvanK
