Supersheep Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 If you can reproduce the issue, make a shorter track, ideally with less units and action going on. Super- The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
ALDEGA Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 3x ZIP/RAR.trk files, just as .miz files are technically ZIP files. You won't see any (noticeable) reduction in file size by compressing it again.
GAJ52 Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Its one of the Instant Action missions and happens fairly early on, so I'm surprised its 4.5 megs. I've never used the Mission Editor, may be a good opportunity to learn ! I tried right clicking on the file (Win 7) and sent it to a Compressed Folder but it hardly reduced the size at all. 159th_Viper Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 That is one of the reasons one replicates the issue in another simple mission, ie you, a wingman and one target. The track will be substantially smaller. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Click me to commence your Journey of Pillage and Plunder! GAJ52 Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 I have managed to create a 'Create Fast Mission' with only Min AAA. The problem I am having with Wingman not attacking these units can be reproduced within this mission and the Track size is just over 1 Mb. Risk Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) He's already replicated the problem in an instant action mission, then created a simple mission, and now you want him to create the track without TrackIR just to reduce the file size. Flying without TrackIR is hard enough. Please try to remember that he is debugging your software for free. You might want to meet us halfway considering that most of us are not developers and were doing the best we know how. Edited December 6, 2012 by Risk

He asked: 'How do I reduce a 4.5 Mb track to below 2 Mb to send to support' EtherealN answered and gave him a solution. How do you get to 'now you want him to create the track' from the above? Spasticatedtoad Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Have you considered a Screen Capture How do I reduce a 4.5 Mb track to below 2 Mb to send to support ? Glen One thing you may be able to try is a Program called "Bandicam". I came accross it a few days ago and if you get the FREE demo, you can record Desktop/ In-Game Footage for a period of 10 minutes. From there you could upload it to YouTube ( unlisted ) and send Support the link to the Video. Maybe even post the link here so others can see the trouble you are having. That is, if you havent already found a resolution. Good luck. If you need any help with Bandicam/YouTube, let me know and I'll be glad to help . :)
EtherealN Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Spasticspacetoad, that would not be sufficient. Watching a video is not even close to as useful as having a track, because the track ensures actual replication of the issue, exactly. Videos are just videos. Spasticatedtoad Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Thanks for letting me know that.... Spasticspacetoad, that would not be sufficient. Watching a video is not even close to as useful as having a track, because the track ensures actual replication of the issue, exactly. Videos are just videos. I was not aware of that. I was not sure of how a Track file plays on another system. I simply offered this as a possible solution, if in fact the O.P was unable to reduce the Track file size and demonstate the issue they were having. I did not mean to provide any misleading information, or point anyone in the wrong direction. I will take more care with future posts. :)
EtherealN Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 No worries at all. Confusion about what the track system does and how it operates is not uncommon, but it really is invaluable when it comes to squashing bugs. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
