leafer Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I obviously can't. My HD4670 can't really handle DCSW. I'm getting 15 fps with cockpit on and 8-9 fps over airfields and this is played with everything set to low or off. Man, I really cannot decide, so what do you guys think. There's a 7770 on sale for 100 usd but I can't seem to make up my mind. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
HiJack Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) I have the HD7970 and still have to switch features off so dont get to exited about a new GPU. leafer Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 The 7850 cost 260 usd here so that's not an option for me. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
leafer Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 YES!!!!! Just bought a Power Cooler HD7770 and here's some screenshots showing off massive fps gain. Before just sitting on the runway would give me around 20 fps and if I looked around I'd be down to 8 fps flat. First tried I got so excited I had forgotten to turn on pit shadows etc, and I got a solid 28-30 fps through and through. Looking at the airport in flight doesn't kill frame rate anymore. Solid 28-30 fps. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
leafer Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 With pit shadows on the I was surprised I still got pretty decent frame rate over the city. And the crowd stood in awe of me. :P ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
leafer Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 Very, very, extremely happy with this decision, so excuse me while I go fly around DCSW in all its glory. Still can't believe I can fly with pit shadows on now. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Rhinox Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Recommended system requirements: Operating system 64-bit: Windows Vista and 7; Processor: CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400, AMD Phenom X3 8750 or better; Memory: 4GB; Hard disk space: 7 GB; Video: Shader 3.0 or better; 896MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 DirectX 9.0c or better; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; DirectX: 9.0C; requires internet activation. Minimum system requirements: Operating system: Windows XP, Vista or 7; Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz; Memory: 3 GB; Free hard disk space: 7 GB; Video: 512 MB RAM card, DirectX 9 - compatible; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; requires internet activation. ED: maybe time to adjust those hw-specs to something realistic! Your customers deserve fair treatment. I had once the same rig like those "recommended system requirements" and it was real pain in a** to play DCS:A10C on it. I doubt it got better since then...
leafer Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 Heh. Yeah. Though I don't recall ever reading that as it's buy and pray for me. :D ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
