AngryEchoSix Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 This has been irking me since I started playing recently. After either a successful or failed mission, I will occasionally get an award (in SP). I've tried searching high and low for what the requirements of each of the awards are, but to no avail. At one point it was suggested that is was a certain total point value that the awards were based on, but looking at my logbook, that is not the case. I'm curious as to what the requirements are, like destroy X amount of vehicles in one mission, ad on etc. Here is a screen cap of my logbook and the awards that I have so far, if that might shed some light on something.

WildBillKelsoe Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Per the GUI manual: RANK. As your pilots gain experience, they will grow in rank. This is done automatically. Rank will be indicated by the name of the rank and the associated shoulder board. Experience is gained through flight hours and accomplishments in battle. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Hobo Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 This information can be found in DCS World\Scripts\Database\db_countries.lua and looks like the rank is the same for no matter which country you chose but the medals are different based on each country. Here's the list for USA. Experience based for medals: 200 - Air Medal 600 - Purple Heart 1000 - Bronze Star 1400 - Airman's Medal 1800 - Distinguished Flying Cross 2200 - Silver Star 2600 - Air Force Cross 3000 - Air Force Medal of Honour Flight Hours for Rank: 0 - Second Lieutenant 15 - First Lieutenant 30 - Captain 60 - Major 120 - Lieutenant Colonel 240 - Colonel 1
