the "diamond " for the A-10A is from FC 3. it is simply a target marker from the game engine (auto targeting) nothing to do with TGP.

SU-25 gets the same! it's depending on the game mode settings in the mission I guess?

Well I figured that as the A10A dosnt have a TGP. It does however have the Pave tracker on the nose. So what generates or determines which target is auto tracked ? It only seems to be there with JTAC (AI) on the deck, though I need to experiment more to find out when it will or won't be there.

Forgive us Oh Mighty Rongor for talking of such lowly things  but I think we are all over the difference between the C and the A, just trying to figure out what works, not everyone has the C and it would be cool to be able to FAC in the A drivers. A does demonstrate a "Spot". Controlling where that indication lies would be useful. For example a C pilot could AFAC for online FC3 pilots.

Yes it's very clear that JTAC can do what you say, which is pretty much what I showed and what Shagrat had asked about ?

Further tried the same mission with A. Single A10A and JTAC (AI) no diamond

B. Pair of A10A and JTAC (AI) Diamond appears

C. Pair of A10A and no JTAC still get a Diamond and it only comes up once the wingman calls a contact so its Wingie related....shame :(.

Oh well back to talking on my A10A driving mate and smoking targets for him.

DCS any plans ???

DCS: A-10 Warthog solves this matter;)

It is not being DCS players mighty or more qualified for anything. Simply dont expect FC3 to offer the functionality of DCS Modules. Try to keep in mind that if you dont point out clearly speaking of an FC3 aircraft, people doesnt have a chance noticing this thread switching from DCS module disussion to FC3 (in-)abilities. If you enter this thread speaking of TGPs and SPIs and stuff, you invite others to share their A-10C ideas with you, unable to provide areal benefit to your FC3 questions...

Yeah no worries Rongor, I was just joking with ya. Just expanding the original question. I figured people would know that the A10A is from FC3.

Just wanted to elaborate on the 9 line using the LSS previously discussed.

Using whats called (friendly centric CAS)

Provide your grid to the aircraft

(he now knows where the friendlies are located. Always important.

From friendly position give your laser bearing and distance.

From there the aircraft should be at the jtac 6 oclock with LSS. Once he tracks he can call tally and prosecute the tgt.

9 line.

Type 1 or 2 Bomb on tgt.

1. D

2. 360 right

3. 5

4. elevation

5. tgt description

6. north of friendlies 500m

7. ground lase (laser code 1688 or other)

8. south 500m

9. egress at your descretion

Remarks.

FAH between 320 and 350 (may include laser code here as well)

Give TOT.

LTL (laser tgt line 360)

Its essential to give a FAH since when you release the bomb it is looking for the strongest laser energy. So if it sees the tgt thats great. But if you release the wepon infront of you the bomb would land on you since the laser is stronger coming from the device itself. it happens!

9 line and friendly centric cas is king. All this digital stuff is great when your in an office but when boots are on the ground you best have gps and know where north is.

best.

 good points 63, Never had any of this digital nonsense when I was an FAC and the Lase was the size of a house and it warmed up like the Death Star ! :D

I noticed when one guy made a 'tutorial' on YouTube, the JTAC used WP, and he hooked to the red triangle, using cluster bombs that failed to hit.

Did JTAC mark triangle at WP position (110m away) or at the Trucks?

(Could be a old problem, video was from March 2012)

ED should include such a device as a floater option in DCS CA. Maybe somebody will mod it someday.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Wild bill.

Your right. Ed should model the rover systems on the market today. This would allow users to avoid a real world talk on and have the jtac see what the aircraft sees.

The jtac would have to make sure his rover is on the correct frequency the aircraft is pushing if he had multiple aircraft in the sky.

I really hope they continue to develop jtac in this game.
