StoOopiD Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 I feel CH Products quality is top notch. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Crosshair VIII hero wifi, 3800x w/ Enermax 360 AIO cooler (push-pull), 32gigs DDR4 Ripjaws 3600, Win 10 home on a Plextor PCI-E x4 3gb/s HD, EVGA 2070 Super FTW3 ultra+, Soundblaster Z Rift S, M$FFB2, CH Pro throttle, Saitek pedals BS2, A10C, P51D, SPITFIRE, FC3, Uh-1H, F86, Mi-8MTV2, SA342, MIG21-bis, AV8BNA, F14, F16, FA-18C, SUPERCARRIER
Cali Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I want a Cougar with CH guts. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
531-Ghost Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Although the first with FFB, CH Products will probably not entertain FFB, again. :joystick:
danilop Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Although FFB would be great, I would like to see some design improvements on fighterstick and throttle pro, especially the later. Not in quality department (CH products are arguably the best if you look for long term reliability), but in functionality: dual stage trigger on the stick and redesigned throttle (not far from franken-potato mod). Pedals need some attention as well.
danilop Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 531-Ghost, Is Franken-Potato Mod still available, BTW?
531-Ghost Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Yes, the latest revision, is still available. :joystick:
StoOopiD Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 This stick with FFB would be the best stick ever! Even better then the TM Warthog. IMO. its a shame that the Warthog didnt come with FFB:( FFB improves the simulation experience by 1000% [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Crosshair VIII hero wifi, 3800x w/ Enermax 360 AIO cooler (push-pull), 32gigs DDR4 Ripjaws 3600, Win 10 home on a Plextor PCI-E x4 3gb/s HD, EVGA 2070 Super FTW3 ultra+, Soundblaster Z Rift S, M$FFB2, CH Pro throttle, Saitek pedals BS2, A10C, P51D, SPITFIRE, FC3, Uh-1H, F86, Mi-8MTV2, SA342, MIG21-bis, AV8BNA, F14, F16, FA-18C, SUPERCARRIER

danilop Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 (edited) It's not that simple ... HOTAS market (especially hard core simulation) is niche market with very few software releases, and you need to have perfect timing when releasing new hardware product. CH have A-10c HOTAS (as real as it gets outside cockpit) for military customers, but decided against release on civilian market (Why, I don't know - it could be contract with USAF or their market research findings): Thrustmaster jumped on opportunity and we know the result. Logitech and Saitek tried as well, with mixed success. I think that next major push on HOTAS market will coincide with release of DCS: Fighter project - couple of years from now, at least. And yes, FFB properly executed is great stuff. Edited January 3, 2013 by danilop

531-Ghost Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Yes, it is real. I've laid my hands on it at the factory. Due to considerable restraints (Federal Government) that HOTAS is not available to the public. It sells for about 10k. :joystick:

No it can't be. I imagined him with Afghan beard and scarier in general. Back on topic. CH makes nice HOTAS and I'd love for them to enter into the mix, but it looks as if they're content with fading into obscurity. 531-Ghost Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Back on topic. CH makes nice HOTAS and I'd love for them to enter into the mix, but it looks as if they're content with fading into obscurity. Without Control Manager, well...:sad_2: :joystick:
leafer Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Sorry I'm not sure what you meant by that as I'm not at all current on CH news. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
531-Ghost Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Sorry, let me clarify, it means, for now, your comment IMO is pretty accurate. Without Control Manager and it's capabilities to program CH Products, fading into obscurity although a long way off IMO, is not out of the relm of possibility. We can however, hope, they do enter something new in the retail world. :joystick:
leafer Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Oh? So Bob Church stopped supporting CM or has he stopped CH from using it? When I said fade into obscurity I only meant there has been nothing new from them in decade(s). ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
