531-Ghost Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Holy crap! Did that come out wrong! No, Bob is still supporting and working with CH Products. His/CH Products Control Manager, is the glue that holds it all together. The hardware as you point out, getting long in the tooth. I need a cup o' Joe... :joystick:
Cali Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Could the CH programming (guts) be put into a Cougar? If so, how hard and how much would that be? i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
531-Ghost Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 The (guts) as in PCB...? Sure, it's possible I suppose. :joystick:
leafer Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Ahh. I read that wrong. Phew. I've always read how brilliant his Control Manager is, from people who've used both Foxy and CM, when compared to Foxy. If I could afford to I'd get a used CH hotas, gut them, and put the PCBs in my Suncom. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

They did? The last flight anything released by them was at E For All in LA (I was there). It was the Eclipse Yoke. :joystick:
531-Ghost Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Whaa........ How? Nice How? Well, you take a Suncom split throttle and the "guts" from a ProThrottle and, TA DA! There you go. :joystick:
71st_Mastiff Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 They did? The last flight anything released by them was at E For All in LA (I was there). It was the Eclipse Yoke. yes that's were I heard it at E3 in Los Angeles, I used to go every year and pay for the pass $350 bucks. just so I could be there. not doing that again. Its ridicules all other countries allow public john Q to go into these types of conventions but nooo not here... Why is that, oh and its funny how movie stars get to take there kids to it but not john Q, public. why cause the security company, I used to work at, they know me and I get in free now. "any failure you meet, is never a defeat; merely a set up for a greater come back", W Forbes. 531-Ghost Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 The Eclipse was released / previewed during E For All, not E3. Although I've been to both. E For All twice and E3 once. :joystick:
leafer Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Did that too :smilewink: Oh, no you didn't! :D Super cool, man. I want to do the same with my Suncom but had to shelve the project because the last time I ordered two BU0836s from Bodnar they didn't arrive. Tried as I might to contact him but the ****er wouldn't reply to my emails. Yes, I'm still pissed. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
StoOopiD Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 What are we suppose to do? try doing your mods and hope we dont end up having a joystick/throttle called the keyboard. lol [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Crosshair VIII hero wifi, 3800x w/ Enermax 360 AIO cooler (push-pull), 32gigs DDR4 Ripjaws 3600, Win 10 home on a Plextor PCI-E x4 3gb/s HD, EVGA 2070 Super FTW3 ultra+, Soundblaster Z Rift S, M$FFB2, CH Pro throttle, Saitek pedals BS2, A10C, P51D, SPITFIRE, FC3, Uh-1H, F86, Mi-8MTV2, SA342, MIG21-bis, AV8BNA, F14, F16, FA-18C, SUPERCARRIER
StoOopiD Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 It's not that simple ... HOTAS market (especially hard core simulation) is niche market with very few software releases, and you need to have perfect timing when releasing new hardware product. CH have A-10c HOTAS (as real as it gets outside cockpit) for military customers, but decided against release on civilian market (Why, I don't know - it could be contract with USAF or their market research findings): Thrustmaster jumped on opportunity and we know the result. Logitech and Saitek tried as well, with mixed success. I think that next major push on HOTAS market will coincide with release of DCS: Fighter project - couple of years from now, at least. And yes, FFB properly executed is great stuff. Looking at the pic. Has anybody tried to contact Debby? airdog Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Looking at the pic. Has anybody tried to contact Debby? Yup....sent her a pic of my joystick. 531-Ghost Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 (edited) Yes, Debby has seen/held what you see in that picture. :smilewink: You have no idea how many years not only I, but some that used to be in the industry have tried to get CH Products to make a split throttle like that. Unfortunatly, the ROI and market, still isn't there. Edited January 4, 2013 by 531-Ghost :joystick:

531-Ghost Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I'm thinking, probably not. Quality may be an issue. :smilewink: :joystick:
danilop Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Maybe so, maybe not - but what's the alternative then? CH shutting the gaming division down ?
