Teapot Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Sounds interesting. Just test it, no need to think up anything fancy just yet, wouldn't you just want to know if it works before commiting to anything intricate and 'functional'? :) Might give it a go myself ... Harzach Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I use two Genovation Controlpads (basically the same thing as in the video, only smaller) with no problems. One is set up as my UFC and the other is a mix of non-HOTAS controls and F-keys. I use the Genovation software to set them up, which (for all I know) may be the only option with their hardware. You might run into problems trying to use two "normal" keyboards, unless the software can differentiate between the two.
agrasyuk Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 hidmacros doesn't work for DCS unfortunately. for some reason DCS still can see the original input which causes havoc. also DCS seems to be sensitive to macros in general, it wants a generous timeout between the key combinations (using 25ms timeout between actions in my autohotkey scripts). that was the state of things last time i tried which was quite some time ago. but it is free to experiment so give it a try Anton. wolfstriked Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Why two keyboards when DCS has an amazing function that lets you set more SHIFT keys. Its taken me a few days but I have finally mapped my controls to one keyboard and this is with a joystick that has no keys on the stick itself but just the base. Examples of what I have done that may give you an idea.I have SHIFT,SPACE,ALT,CTRL,JOYBUT6 on my joysticks base as the shift keys. DMS= SPACE + wasd TMS= Joy6 + wasd CMS= CTRL + wasd COOL= ALT + wasd Boat= SHIFT + xcv China= c,v Slew= SHIFT + wasd A is autopilot D is Master mode W is main trigger S=release weapons Speedbrakes is F/SHIFT F Flaps is G/Shift G Gear is SPACE+G NWS=SPACE + H E is zoom in and Q is zoom reset 1 is TrackIR reset 3 is wheel brakes SHIFT 2,3,4 changes auto pilot Now you have so many unused keys.I set things like leftengine/rightengine/APU spool up/down to the INS,DEL,HOME,END,PGEUP,PGEDWN keys.Trim is unused keys on my keyboard base etc etc. "Its easy, place the pipper on target and bombs away." :pilotfly: i7-8700k/GTX 1080ti/VKB-GladiatorPRO/VKB-T-rudder Pedals/Saitek X55 throttle
