Bahger Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Mods, I know you'll move this thread but I'm posting it here as this is where people go first and both customers and devs need to be aware of the issue. I also realise that it's quite well-known; I'm just contributing my own experiences, which are not very good so far, while running DCSW/FC3: - When in 3-D flight mode, DCSW is not always "on top" of other Windows applications, i.e, the sidebar and other desktop objects show through, flickering, and interfere with both controls and graphics. - Other posts about this do not resolve whether switching from Windows Aero display mode fixes these problems. For some it appears to, for others it does not. - Similarly, I do not know if playing the sim in a windowed mode (how?) helps. Some say it does, more say it does not. - It is impossible to exit 3-D mode via the "Exit" command in the menu. This is vexing. The only way I can get out into the 2-D program and then exit to desktop is via an unpredictable combination of ALT-TAB and/or CNTL-ALT-DEL. I don't yet know if these issues apply to non-Beta modules I have installed in DCSW, i.e. A-10. Either way, this is a really serious performance glitch. If it applies to A-10, it's a large step in the wrong direction, performance-wise. If it only aplies to FC3, ok, it's Beta but I think we should be informed re. whether a fix is on the way. This is a serious issue.
shagrat Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Same issue here, most of the time I can "fix" it with CTRL+ALT+DEL and switching back... but still it is totally unnerving. VIMANAMAN Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Same here. I can work around with ALT+TAB back to windows then reopen from the task bar, but it's a pain in the 6. I use DCSW: 51/BS2/CA and it happens 95-99% of the time, in all mentioned modules, for me.
dburne Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 I resolved that issue for me, by unticking the " disable aero interface" box in the system tab under options. I am running the latest version of DCS World with the A-10C and BS2 modules. shagrat Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 no difference for me! tried a lot of combinations. root cause seems to be the focus shifting to the desktop when switching to simulator - dcs.exe - from menu - launcher.exe Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)

Python Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 This seemed to do the trick for me also, so simple if it has. Thank you. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
