Wayc00lio Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Seeing as Matt W just announced the arrival of an F18 DCS Module, and because of the variety of missions that a multi-role ac of this nature will offer, I suspect it will be the most popular of DCS modules. I wonder, therefore, do you think it plausible that Thrustmaster/Siatek will see this as a flag to start production of a dedicated F18 HOTAS? Although it will directly affect sales of the A10 Warthog/X65 HOTAS's which a lot of people rushed out to buy on the back of the DCS A10 module, do you think that it will be too much to ask for an F18 HOTAS? I wonder................ Feuerfalke Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 DCS: A-10C was an official addon. The announced F-18 is 3rd-party. I doubt they have ED's influence on TM or Saitek. 1 MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
Exorcet Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 The announced F-18 is 3rd-party. Where was this said? Personally, I'm holding out for a Thrustmaster Eagle. 1 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
Silver_Dragon Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 F-18E has a 3rd Partie. F-18C can be a 3rd Partie or a DCS addon. Dave317 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 How hard would it be for thrustmaster to make a new stick that replaces the a10s. Obviously the throttle would stay the same but you would have a replica fa18 stick alot cheaper than replacing the whole lot.
Feuerfalke Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 F-18C can be a 3rd Partie or a DCS addon. Which is purely speculation until announced officially. So far, we only know an F-18 is coming, which was already announced as 3rd-party. From all we know 100% of the named modules in that last video are 3rd-Party addons. We've all got to keep that in mind, bevor we jump to conclusions that might not turn out as some expect. pieceofmind Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I wonder, therefore, do you think it plausible that Thrustmaster/Siatek will see this as a flag to start production of a dedicated F18 HOTAS? I sure hope so. Of course nothing can be known for certain re DCS:Next but there have been enough hints to put an F-18C as the most likely. I think an F18 HOTAS would sell really well in that scenario so there's a pretty decent chance at least one of those companies will make one. Maybe we'll even get one from both companies as they'll feel it's a large enough market to compete in.
Woogey Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 The great thing about the Eagle, Hornet, and the Harrier, is they all use the same stick grip! (With very minor mods/differences)
pii Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) How hard would it be for thrustmaster to make a new stick that replaces the a10s. Obviously the throttle would stay the same but you would have a replica fa18 stick alot cheaper than replacing the whole lot. Yeah wasn't that the point of a replaceable handle/stick?
