Not sure if I can report here, but in last flight we got few Air to Air confrontations with maveriks and I´m not sure if they are so awesome in RL or they must be tweaked like others misiles, but seems to fly and maneuver better than an Aim-9x or Aim-120C.

And also add, that they seems inmune to chaff an flare.

In that ACMI you can see a few air kill´s with Mav, and the most awesome part is how one of them is able to turn, near the end of the ACMI (Shooted by player Vampi at 15:40:59 to player Angel101, me :music_whistling:).

I dodged that maverick just by luck :joystick:, it crossed over my canopy just a few cm.

It´s a normal behaviour?

So, I checked the upcoming tunning in missiles but I have not seen nothing about AMG.

Greetings.

Well they CAN lock on to aircraft, but I have yet to hear how they do against manouvering targets. My guess is that it shouldn't be better than an AIM-9, the missiles right now suck and will be changed in 1.2.3, but no word on the MAvs in AA.

here is what I mean, except I was able to dodge the mavericks fired at me quite easily.

Yes, I now that they can block on air targets, I killed some SU-25 with it... but you must check how they maneuver in the ACMI at 15:40:59, just oustanding.

Looks almost an AIM-9X from Falcon BMS.

Chuck Norris-esque Mav behaviour is a particularly large Bug currently awaiting extermination.

Just one further point:

Chaff is an anti-radar measure. Mavericks are not radar guided. Thus yes, immune.

Flares are anti IR measure. Mavericks are not heat-seekers. Thus yes, immune.

These factors are correct and realistic, the "issue" is that ingame mavericks are a bit too good against maneuvering targets, especially aerial maneuvering targets, as Viper mentioned.
