Idea for Future Online Missions for Helicopters

Hi there,

I don't know if anyone got already this idea, but today while driving I thought of it. Probably there will be more helicopter add-ons in the future after UH-1H release, I am sure some CSAR machines will eventually appear in the theatre of operations. With that in mind I though of some nearly online dynamic mission, I'll try to be simple in the approach.

Planes got shot down in battle, pilots make it to the ground. Right now as soon as a human pilot eject and touch the ground he just grabs another plane and goes up in the air. What about if that pilot stayed on the ground for CSAR machines get there.

So, imagine this, human pilot gets shot down, but instead of the pilot magically disappear when the human goes to lobby, the AI takes place of that pilot and some script generates a CSAR mission (just like those scripts that runs on the server that gives you coordinates for targets) with details of the near location of the pilot, also with scripts enemy would start to move to the area in search of the pilot.

Obviously this could make the mission heavy on performance, so for that not to happen, we would have some time running down for the successful rescue of the pilot. If the time reach 0 the pilot would be consider MIA (in another words, the AI would disappear).

When in contact with the pilot (in reach of the radio) we would contact him via emergency frequency (this would be similar to FAC messages) and ask him to pop smoke, or to say enemy positions.

From this moment the mission is accepted and there is another time running to be successful.

The first timer is to avoid missions not being flown by helicopters or planes CSAR. The second timer is to avoid perpetual mission running and to be able to generate more mission in another places as pilots eject. We could also integrate a rate of eject per generated mission so to avoid having mission generated each time a pilot ejects.

I don't have knowledge on mission development so I don't really now how difficult would be to do an online mission like this. Since utility/transport helicopters are starting to appear I think it is positive to think about missions online.

Just my two cents I don't know what you guys think.

Best regards and thank you for your attention.

When I get shot down and eject from my A-10C (happens often) after I land it should go to a first person shooter type view. All I'll have is: one forty-five caliber automatic, two boxes of ammunition, four days' concentrated emergency rations, one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills, one miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible, one hundred dollars in rubles, one hundred dollars in gold, nine packs of chewing gum, one issue of prophylactics, three lipsticks, and three pair of nylon stockings.

A fella could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.

Optional:

For MP I would prefer to stay on the ground after being shot down and wait for my MP-buddies to evac me. They would then fly me back to our base where I can walk from the SAR bird direct to my new machine, and jump into action again...
