Headspace Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I might be interested in doing this, but I am not 100% sure I can make it on a Saturday night. We'll see. Leave a spot for me if you can.
Blarney Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Would those who join be spectators, or in cockpit? If in cockpit, what module(s) will you be using? Thanks. 486DX w/turbo button
ralfidude Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 a10s are easy to do this in as they trim easy. Trim in FC3 is overkill and screws with flight, so personally I think a10, however we can split the groups into a10s and f15s. Il discuss the details with line and see what we come up with. Chazz Ulric Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I would like to be apart of this training. Will the practice be held on a later to be disclosed server?
AFAlinebacker42 Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) The server will be titled =]H[= FWS Formation Flight Training or "FFT" if that doesnt fit. I will put whatever jet you feel comfortable flying into the mission, A-10A, A-10C, eagles, russian jets, mustang, the like. Just let me know what aircraft you want and if you want to try and show up. You dont have to be in cockpit, but that will be available if you so wish. Additionally, we will utilize the 104th's teamspeak as guests to them. Please obey their rules and treat them with respect. Their teamspeak server gives us greater capability than our own clan's recent switch to ventrilo does. If anyone is unable to attend, but would still like some coaching or practice, please just mention what times would be good for you and we will work something out. Tailhook Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Interesting. I may hop on if I am around.:smilewink: Intel i9-13900K : ASUS TUF RTX 4080 : 32GB G.Skill RipjawsV 4000 : TM HOTAS Warthog : HP Reverb G2
ralfidude Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Be advised, that we will spend some time before the flight, modifying your joystick sensitivity curve, as well as your throttle. Formation flying without that on shitty joysticks will be darn near impossible, and risky at best. [sIGPIC]http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/ralfidude/redofullalmost_zpsa942f3fe.gif[/sIGPIC]
ApoNOOB Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 And don't be like me and crash into your wingmen in a flight over the black sea! :)
ralfidude Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 My God, don't mention that sortie... 100% loss rate... [sIGPIC]http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/ralfidude/redofullalmost_zpsa942f3fe.gif[/sIGPIC]
ApoNOOB Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Lies, we made it afterall! We tried to land in "nowhere" which didn't work out very well for all of us, true... =)
Tailhook Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 modifying your joystick sensitivity curve, as well as your throttle. Throttle? Why throttle? If you are trying to make up for the current nonexistent spool-up time for the F-15C in FC3, just disregard it. You should not have any curve for your throttle axis no matter what type of flying.;) Intel i9-13900K : ASUS TUF RTX 4080 : 32GB G.Skill RipjawsV 4000 : TM HOTAS Warthog : HP Reverb G2
ralfidude Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Well, actually... What we have found was that the X52 logitechs throttles are not as sensitive/accurate as they appear. A lot of people are having issues with keeping up to speed with someone or a tanker no matter how little movement you use. Line put in a tiny bit of a curve on his, and it basically made tanking 10x easier. So yeah... [sIGPIC]http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/ralfidude/redofullalmost_zpsa942f3fe.gif[/sIGPIC]

adese Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I will attend. A10 please, unless everyone is going to be in Eagles.
Cooper 001 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I will attend, I would like to be a spectator.
ralfidude Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 The training session was a huge success, minus the few fails, though honestly speaking we expected far worse results. Thank you Maverick for letting us use your teamspeak and for your cooperation. Should be smoother sailing in the future. Cheers! As per the questions we asked the folks who attended, we have a grasp of what you would like to do next. All subject to change, but our next session will be to practice how to do ILS landings properly, in extremely poor visibility. We will of course teach you how to do ILS in good conditions first, then train for the bad. On a later day we can also go over A-10 advanced systems. How to customize your plane for your liking, as well as how to do certain things in the CDU and the DSMS, including troubleshooting. We might also touch upon combat manouvers, such as finding enemy threats that a lot of people seem to have an issue with. Most common question asked is "How do I find the enemy?" Though the answer is a difficult one, we can at least try to help you with that a bit. In anycase, the next training even will be held at a later time we will post on this section of the forums. If you have any suggestions as to what else you would like to see, then please post it on here. Follow us on twitch.tv under our usernames, and you can also follow me on a special twitter account I made to keep everyone in the loop of what's going on with us @ralfidude. See you all next time!
