Hey guys. Here is a mash up of some clips from the flight. I don't have a full FRAPS license so I couldn't record the whole thing, so what I ended up capturing isn't the best stuff but for those who were there or those who were interested, this might be fun to watch all the same; certainly some funny bits in here.

By the way, I've been having trouble getting dxtory to not have massive framerate issues. I think it must be a config issue but perhaps also a resource or target drive issue. If you have any tips I'd appreciate it as I think I'd rather invest in dxtory over fraps. I've included my specs below - I mean - I feel like its beefy enough to do this but maybe until DCS is GPU accelerated, I'm being held back. Certainly it could be my destination drive too. Even if I can get decent 720p I'd be happy.

Hey man, i can help you with your DXTORY settings. It should give you virtually no framedrop.

I'll post my settings with screenshots in a moment. You can check my youtube channel to see how the quality is.

Screenshots to come in a moment . Everything circled in red is changed compared to default settings.

Yes, the file end up ginormous, but after rendering with vegas you get decent quality and decent file sizes.

p.s : Windows Live Moviemaker als works just fine to render video's, put music under them, and has the standard editing tools. Easy to sue . And free.

Maximus_Lazarus, thank you so much for the generous information. I'll try that out tonight and see how it goes. I'm pretty excited.

All subject to change, but our next session will be to practice how to do ILS landings properly, in extremely poor visibility. We will of course teach you how to do ILS in good conditions first, then train for the bad.

Do you have IAPs then?

dont use dxtory codec. Use http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html

Yeah i tried that one to.

Enormous frame rate impact, and poor quality to boot. (for me)

For me, the only negative thing about the DXTORY codec is that it makes for large files.

But i'll take large files anyday when my framerate loss is literally 1 or 2 frames. (on a total of +100 frames per second)..

Will there be another formation flight training ?

Got my stick setup , and track ir should be here this weekend.

I'd like to participate .

I'll make sure to practice in mission editor first so i don't crash into everybody

We don't have any dates in mind just yet.

Linebacker is out getting interviewed by the Air Force right now, so as soon as he comes back and let's me know just how badly DCS got it wrong from reality, we will talk about dates.

Lol, hes sending me text msgs telling me how he's looking at missiles from back in the late 80's in comparison to what we have today, telling me we are getting jipped. hahahaha.

He's joining. Got interviews. Passed everything. Now it's in the hands of the air force and... the damn congress that is sacking all air bases in the US and all the pilots into the UAV program... air force in three years is gonna be crap.

It's going to crap now, I have 6 years and 4 months before I can retire.
