I've always turned it off on my machines. Who wants your machine shouting to the world it's location?

To my knowledge UPnP is not binded by the application. Never seen cases when it was… But I might be wrong…

 

Although UPnP is not recommended by high tech network gurus, security flaws…

Then again I had it on for as long that I can remember and never had issues with it. However true, I still have my windows firewall on as well…

i play with uPnP off, as it conflicts with nearly every other game I play online.
