Hey guys.

Could someone tell me how to update my A-10C Module from 1.1.1.1 to the latest?

Do i just download the latest file and install over the old?

Or remove the old and install the new?

Thanks

The last version has 1.2.2 but has not a update for standalone A-10 version.

You need install 1.2.2 DCS: World version and download last version A-10C module install of them, when you enter in the game to fly A-10C, you enter your serial number.

DCS: World last version:

Hey Silver_Dragon, thanks for the quick reply.

I have the latest version of DCS World but when I purchased A-10c last night, it gave me version 1.1.1.1 :/

I have now downloaded the latest but do I just install it over the previous install or do I have to remove the previous.

Hope that makes sense

Thanks

Standalone v1.1.1.1 A-10C, and DCS World + A-10C Module are completely separate installations. You can have them both on your computer. You cannot update standalone v1.1.1.1 because there won't be any updates or patches for it any more in the future.

Don´t worry, sure you by them on Steam or similar. You only need the Serial number. That work on all versions (Standalone (previous DCS:W) and A-10C module)

The A-10C 1.2.2 only install over DCS:W. The A-10C 1.1.1.1 can be uninstall when you confirm A-10C DCS:World module worlking (save great quantity HD space)

The same problem occur when you purchase A-10C from the DCS store. After purchase you are directed to the 1.1.1.1 version and not 1.2.2. At least I was... I had to search for 1.2.2 to find it!

Yes, there is no need for it, it's just an old version of the game.

I really hope ED could get their act together and get their steam version up to date because this is needlessly confusing.

I don't think it's that easy. It would most likely require a new contract between ED (TFC most likely) and Valve, because DCS World is a new product and totally different concept. And such deal might not be that beneficial for ED. DCS World not beeing a regular f2p title might complicate thing a little as well. FC 3 requiring a game not purchasable on steam might be a problem as well.

Actually, AFAIK, there is no such thing as 1.1.1.1 module, because 1.1.1.1 is standalone version only. Just nitpicking... sorry. :)

It's a F2P title with paid DLC. Nothing out of the ordinary.

That might be more difficult.

I don't think there would be technical difficulties with including DCS World in Steam (apart from FC3). It's more that ED doesn't seem motivated at all to do that. They appear to be beefing up DCS World to be its own mini sale and distribution platform so that they don't have to share profits.

Understandable in their position, but a bit of a shame too. A Steam sale is where I learned about DCS:A-10C since I wasn't following the combat flight sim world too closely at the time (ended up buying it in a store since that was still cheaper than the sale, but anyway...).
