Kye Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) Hello all Sorry to bring this potentially back up again, but I've had a good search and i'm still stuck. How do we use the radios in the A-10 to contact the tower? I know there are two VHF (AM and FM) and a UHF. I have the frequency for the airfield. Easy communication is on. And I have a key assigned. Past that, I'm stumped. Could someone talk me through what I should be doing? I've entered the frequency (129.00) and that does nothing. There is a digit before the frequency, but I can't enter the '1' or a '0' to change that. Thanks for your time and patience. :) Edited February 15, 2013 by Kye
Rongor Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 you bring up the comms menu with a key, its the #-key on my settings. There you contact ATC. If you switch to realistic radio, you have to use the VHF AM radio.
JujuMan Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 As above, if your using the "easy comms" selection in the main options, use the / key or # key depending on your keyboard, then select F5 (ATC). And select your choice from the menu on screen. If you are using realistic comms (easy comms check box unpicked in options) you need to dial in the VHF AM frequency of the airfield in question into the VHF AM radio. That's the top radio under the throttles. Then press the VHF Mic switch for the AM radio (the keyboard equivalent is found under the VHF AM Radio selection in the controls drop down box), select F5-ATC and then carry on with whatever radio menu option you are presented with. Hope it helps. _________________________________________

RodBorza Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 You can use this: hold NumPad 0 and any other number to get a better view of the panels. For the radios, it would be NumPad 0 +1. If you want to change views without having to hold NumPad 0, use RCrtl+NumPad 0, then any other number to get the views you want. To comeback to normal view, it is RCtrl+NumPad 0 again. This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly: YouTube: SloppyDog
