is it at all possible to record when online?i looked for the save and or watch track button after a flight when beeing online, but never found one.

in single player its no problem, but i just dont find it when online.

also i heard of an ingame converting tool which converts the tracks into other "playable" formats, but i didnt find that feature either yet.

help would be appreciated.S!

DR.. saw you on the Israel server last night. what I've discovered in my short time on DCS. - The online track record automatically, and are stored in the C:\Users\'username'\Saved Games\DCS\Tracks\Multiplayer folder. - The recorded track are compressed and contain, besides the track(s), other control files - If you wish to change track settings (such as padlock, nearest aircraft.. etc) The file to extract is the Options[\b], edit the settings in here, then save it back into the compressed track file. - When running the online track, on start up, it PAUSES on the map and sits there -You'll think it has crashed or stopped working. You have to 'un-Pause' it [Game - Pause key] and accelerate time to get it to your a/c - From here you can watch the track. Most games have their unique formats and are incompatible with other games. DCS track (with compression) are relatively small compared to other games.

Be aware that track files often contain small errors which become magnified into a completely alternative-reality version of events.

If you want to review your flights, I'd strongly recommend checking out Tacview, which not only records a more consistent interpretation of events, but has really nice tools for jumping through the recording and checking things out from a variety of angles.

Tacview is great. Just be advised that it'll cause you to fail the export.lua check on some servers. If you install it and try to connect to the 104th, for example, you'll just get the all-ambiguous "connection interrupted" error. Same goes for TARS, another extremely nifty utility.

Tracks can play (and record for that matter) from server side, not client side. You have to be the host. Ask your host to give you his track and you might see yourself but make sure it's not hundreds of mb or you're trolling unfriendly skies.
