That's a good looking hide, Gryphon. I'm doing the same thing in terms of cleaning, as though it will never be done.

Do you know how to remove the covers altogether? How about the weapon mounts?

There is a good mission where the pilot just resupplies and rescues with no need for those things.

Hi Crashmo,

it is not possible to remove the cover, weapon mount or something else, because it is everything a part of the 3D Model.

We have to wait for a 3D Model without these parts.

What me surprises is the name of the 3D Model, "ab-212.edm".

I think it means "Augusta Bell 212" and this is not the UH-1H.

Yeah I think they're working on a "slick" model for final release. I'm not positive on that but I read it on a list of future additions/changes they hope to incorporate. I think that making it a "slick" won't be too difficult since it's just a matter of creating another model without the weapon mounts. But it's probably not really high on their priority list since it won't change much in terms of game play and can be done pretty quickly.

I do see some issues with the covers in terms of how they look with certain camouflage schemes though and I wish they were textured a bit differently, but it's easy enough to work around for most things, I believe.

7th cav

Mastiff, is this the 7th cav you are talking about. I didn't find a whole lot after 20 minutes of research, so I took this and applied some artistic license.

Thanks for the reply, now I know.

The 212 I flew many years ago was just the civilian version of the UH-1N. Essentially the same airframe with 2 engines. Maybe it means something completely different to the Belsimtek team.

Who knows with creative types? I mean, a Huey with guns in an urban camo livery--anything can happen. :D

Always possible. I watched the videos. I'll make this my next project, but it looks a challenge, so give me some time. A few days, maybe.

As always, Upuaut, that's an awesome looking skin. Great job lining everything up at the seams!

I've been a little slow getting my latest 2 skins complete. I have my IDF 124th skin almost done but the covers are being difficult (they were backwards, now I have them on the correct sides but they are upside down).

Anyway, I made the brilliant "mistake" of buying and then starting to play Skyrim late last week thanks to the Steam summer sale so I've been "busy". I love TES.

Just wanted to drop in and say that I'm technically still working on skins and that the ones you guys have been posting here lately are top notch.

Things that hide in templates

I spent yesterday unlocking things that hide in Huey templates. What is that thing?

This is a reference for skinners or anyone who would want to skin. This will show you where some of the stuff is on the templates.

Some of it is still hiding and unknown, except for the privileged few. The blades reside in the textures folder as a .tga file. Like the .bmp files, you can only use them as a guide to paint over the top as they are not layered like the Photoshop files. The same is true of the interior and engine panels and the like. Also all of the blade and shaft mounting components.

Self explanatory:

The "unknown" circled in red is part of the M-60 mount (as circled in red below). The "unknown" circled in green...I thought was the M-60 ammo box, but now I'm not 100% sure, and don't want to speculate. Thanks again for the diagram Crashmo.

nice andy! I would take a try if you don't mind... but let me ask you some questions about the nose... if i can see correctly there is an bavarian flag with the earth in the background? and what does "MAT" printed on the side mean?

Posted

"The modified WTD 61 HUEY with special Flight Test Equipment on the nose. Special scheme applied for the Missionsausrüstungsträger (MAT) by the company ESG."

Ok, answered it myself.
