otto Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I've played a couple of times on some russian servers and each time there are players that warp all over the place. From 6 amraams launched none hit the target even at closest ranges. When going for a gun kill the other aircraft warps all over the place. The ping was maximum 150 for each player.I had 108. I usually play on the 104th server and this server runs perfect. Where could this warping be coming from? Could my old maschine be the problem? SkateZilla Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 use a network program to monitor packet loss (most modems have it in their built in menu nowadays) Ping is one thing, you have have a 40 ms ping, but if they are on the other side of the world, you're still gonna have connection issues, which is why most Teir1 MP Games have "REGIONS", I joined an austrailian server and everyone had a ping of 125-140 and people were jumping and skipping everywhere, and that notorious moonwalk/walking in place crap. ED Team NineLine Posted April 4, 2013 ED Team Posted April 4, 2013 Do you know what mission they were hosting or if the mission was large, with a lot of units? Your ping could have been decent, but then if the mission was quite complex it might not matter if the server or you machine couldnt handle all the data coming through that little pipe :) Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
HiJack Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Not enough server resources to host the number of players and a large mission is my bet also.
EtherealN Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 (edited) use a network program to monitor packet loss (most modems have it in their built in menu nowadays) UDP. No way to measure packet loss for them. (Btw, physically lowest possible ping for the other side of the world is ~134, assuming no reamplification loss in the fibers, no computation tax on switches, and a direct fiber from your machine to the target. :P Beside the point for the argument you're making, but I R nerd so I had to. :P ) Edited April 4, 2013 by EtherealN [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

EtherealN Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Yeah, I just had to take the chance at being alpha-nerd. otto Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 @SiThSpAwN The server was "RAF".There were 10 players in aircraft +2 ground force controlers or something like that and a decent number of ground units how many ground units i can't say for sure.

Depending on the quality of the server, the number of units can really effect the warping. It would be interesting to know the speed of the connection of the server and the total number of units in the mission they were using.
