even if the ports are open, and the firewall off,

You still have to forward them to the MAC/Local IP.

Other wise the packets come to the router and stop there since the router doesnt know where to send them.

Try Running without the router.

my COMODO firewall rules for DCS world are as follows:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe

Allow IP In From MAC Any To MAC Any Where Protocol Is Any

Allow IP Out From MAC Any To MAC Any Where Protocol Is Any

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS Wolrd\bin\Launcher.exe

Allow IP Out From MAC Any To MAC Any Where Protocol Is Any

To my knowledge the above shouldn't cause any connectivity issues.

Windows firewall? Antivirus firewall?

Windows Firewall is disabled. I use COMODO Internet Security, which does include a firewall. The pictures you see are of my routers port forwarding page, and the 2nd one is of my COMODO KillSwitch which is like a monitor of the whole computer.

Below is from post #52

That port you circled will tend to change frequently. I can't remember exactly what it was for- but I'd been seeing it change a lot in my logs (followed by crashes in the past). I'm not sure if that was just a coincidence... regardless- it shouldn't have an impact on your connectivity issues.
