luza Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Hi, I'm in a situation where randomly 2/4 Groups spawn, and I want the JTAC to work, currently the only thing I get is no Tasking available, I've tried different things, any ideas?:helpsmilie: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Bahger Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 With certain exceptions (see below) JTAC units tend to be one shot only, i.e. you have to give them a dedicated target in the ME and when it's destroyed, the JTAC becomes redundant. There are exceptions; I have had JTACs call out other targets, perhaps because they are in the unit's LOS, or within a certin range, but I am not sure what governs this. I'd like to be able to use an aerial FAC, such as a UAV, to call out targets spottted within a certain zone; does anyone know if this can be done?
ENO Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 hmmm... just do the start enroute task version of FAC / FAC Engage Group... that way you can put whatever group you want on them. Click on "visible" to take LOS out of the equation. As for the UAV style I'm still working on that but I utilize it in the same way. I do FAC engage group. For basics about JTAC and proper setups go here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91595&highlight=adding+jtac Or here http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Mission_Editor:_JTAC_(Joint_Terminal_Attack_Controller) "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. ED Team NineLine Posted April 10, 2013 ED Team Posted April 10, 2013 ANd I think for multiple groups you just need to add each (ADD -> FAC assign group) group in advanced waypoint options, they have priority settings so it should go by that, although I will admit I have not tried m,ultiple targets with one JTAC, I will be tonight though :) Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Grimes Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 If the JTAC is able to detect the groups it should be able to operate autonomously based on the randomly spawned groups. The problem with Sithspawns suggestion is it doesn't entirely account for a randomly spawned group due to how waypoint tasks work. For example the tasks looks like this and the following happens: FAC Assign Group(Group1) <--spawns FAC Assign Group(Group2) FAC Assign Group(Group3) <--spawns FAC Assign Group(Group4) It will assign group 1 just fine, but it will get stuck on the group 2 action because the group never spawns. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. I think I got what you wanted, try the attached mission. I have 4 vehicles, triggered to randomly appear in 4 different combinations of 2 of the vehicles. I tested it out, it gave me the first target, I engaged and destroyed, then JTAC automatically contacted me for the second. ALthoguht the menu option to request more tasking did appear, as I said it automatically when fired and requested the next tasking. Please note where I added the FAC - Assign groups, and notice how my triggers are set up, maybe there is an easier way to do this, but just an initial test and it worked.JTAC Test.miz Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Druid_ Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 In the Action, Use AI TASK -> FAC assign gp along with the activation of each random group. This way the group is activated and the JTAC is assigned it as a target at the same time. If you have used this method Sith then apologies as I am on iPad typing this. I can't think of an easier way. i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q

That is pretty much what I set up. More or less, its pretty clunky, but works well. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
