As I understand it, only certain types of vehicles can perform JTAC (humvee, for example). if this is the same for russian equipment, then what vehicles can I use?

Ah right, believe (almost) all ground units can perform JTAC.

 

Believe the 159th mission builders usually use something like an BMP or BTR though.

 

So i'd suggest to try it whit one of those.

I think the requirement is that the vehicle/aircraft alignment be NATO in order for the JTAC to work.

 

I'm curious as to whether you can perform JTAC operations with an aircraft that doesn't have a radio with selectable frequencies (e.g. Su-25, A-10A).

 

Should be possible yes.

You won't have datalink though, nor any place to input co-ordinates.

Making hard to find the target.

Last I remembered was that JTAC was very particular to the type of aircraft used. It is mainly built for the A-10C and probably other future Nato aircraft. On top of that Nato ground forces are the only types that have "FAC" tasks available to them. In fact the A-10C might be the only aircraft that even gets the JTAC menu. Other aircraft can obviously "listen in" to the JTAC communications, and I think FC3 aircraft might be forced to.

 

Russian aircraft can be filtered by the AFAC task, yet none of them can actually use any of the "FAC" tasks which would be similar to a JTAC.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

I think the main problem is that FC3 aircraft have not frequency option. The cords is not a problem because I can find a approximately position with the kneeboard cords. Why the Su-25 pilots cant have a radio operator for pointing positions. This aircraft is totally take apart in improvements.

 

So actually is not possible set a JTAC for Su-25?
