Field resource info?

Is there a guide for how to use the resource at different fields? I would like to try to create a campaign mission with dynamic resources but wanted to get some more information.

 

For instance, what does speed, periodicity, and size effect? Is speed and periodicity is minutes or seconds? What does size refer to?

 

Also there is operating level which I'm not sure about.

 

Another curiousity is if a aircraft removes fuel does that fuel get put back into resources or is it gone forever?

Thanks for the information. Will you see a convoy going from one base to another or is it all invisible at this point?

 

The reason I ask is I think it would be cool to have a way to distrupt enemy resupply and take over an airfield type mission.
