Digital Aura Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) You'd think this would be clearer, as I'm sure it's been asked a million times and is covered on Youtube in a few spots. I've searched and searched here but perhaps my query wordings aren't the best. I know your buddy can send coordinates and SPI to you, but I'm a little foggy about being on the receiving end. So, as far as I know... to share a SPI (wedding cake symbol) in the TAD my buddy slews over my aircraft and does a short L-Ctl Up and clicks the SEND OSB on the right. [at least, I think that's right] Then I get an indicator saying NEW TASK MESSAGE or something... so, what's the next step to getting that coordinate and getting it to appear on my own TAD now so that I can slave my MAVS or whatever right to my buddies target? It's just not as clear as I thought and we've been puzzling over it for a week. Edited April 30, 2013 by Digital Aura
Dejjvid Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 You'd think this would be clearer, as I'm sure it's been asked a million times and is covered on Youtube in a few spots. I've searched and searched here but perhaps my query wordings aren't the best. I know you can send coordinates and SPI to friends you are playing with, but I'm a little foggy about being on the receiving end. So, as far as I know... to share a SPI (wedding cake symbol) you slew over your wingman and do a short L-Ctl Up and click the SEND OSB on the right. [at least, I think that's right] Then I know the recipient gets an indicator saying NEW TASK MESSAGE or something... so, what's the next step to getting that coordinate and getting it to appear on your own TAD now so that you can slave your MAVS or whatever right to your buddies target? It's just not as clear as I thought and we've been puzzling over it for a week. You can share your SPI with DMS LEFT LONG, you see in your top right corner on our TAD when you are sending. If you want to move your SPI to a wingmans SPI slew your cursor to the wingmans' SPI and press TMS UP SHORT followed by a TMS UP LONG. Your SPI will now be on top of your wingmans. The other thing you talk about is sending attack orders, it's a little more complicated, but you got the sending part. When you receive an attack order press OSB WILCO on TAD then slew over the red triangle and do TMS UP SHORT followed by TMS UP LONG. 1 i7 8700K | GTX 1080 Ti | 32GB RAM | 500GB M.2 SSD | TIR5 w/ Trackclip Pro | TM Hotas Warthog | Saitek Pro Flight Rudder [sigpic]http://www.132virtualwing.org[/sigpic]

WildBillKelsoe Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Zoom out TAD, look for flashing red triangle, press WILCO. Triangle no longer flashes. Slew TAD over it and press TMS forward long. Now you have your buddy target. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. I knew it was something simple like that. Wow. I missed the obvious. I was looking in the CDU for a message with the coordinates or something. Does anyone know a way of drawing L/L coordinate from the TAD and converting them to UTM?
uri_ba Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 ahhh man. I knew it was something simple like that. Wow. I missed the obvious. I was looking in the CDU for a message with the coordinates or something. Does anyone know a way of drawing L/L coordinate from the TAD and converting them to UTM? No need. Switch the TAD from L/L to UTM, then it will show you the cursor position in UTM. Digital Aura Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 No need. Switch the TAD from L/L to UTM, then it will show you the cursor position in UTM. Well I was looking for UTM...but it switches to MGRS. Is that the same thing?
mwd2 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 UTM is the same as MGRS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Transverse_Mercator_coordinate_system i know five ways to share targets between A-10C to A-10C (both client) 1.) Set SPI Display to All i) Mark TAD to SOI ii) OSB1 – Profile setting iii) OSB16 – Change setting CHG SET iv) Confirm Entry SPI Display = All 2.) Transfer Target Assignment i) Make target to SPI (use Laser for the correct distance!) ii) Hook fly member (TMS FWD Short) iii) Push OSB7 Send button Wingman i) CHECK TAD --> Flashing Message: New Tasking ii) to accept – set TAD as SOI and OSB19 (WILCO) to refuse – select OSB7 (CNTCO) iii) assigned target will show now as RED TRIANGLE on TAD iv) HOOK (TMS FWD Short) and make it to SPI (TMS FWD Long) - De-Clutter TAD from red triagels, move Curser over it and push OSB7 (CNC) 3.) Broadcast SPI - SPI Broadcast toggle on (DMS LEFT Long) - purple line extending from Wingman to MiniSPI symbol indicate Wingman SPI Wingman i) Check SPI ii) HOOK SPI (TMS FWD Short) and make it to your own SPI (TMS FWD Long) iii) Slew all to SPI (ChinaHAT FWD Long) 4.) Transfer L/L or UTM coordination via TS3 5.) Bullseye coordination i) Change via OSB18 to HOOK BULL ii) HOOK target (TMS FWD Short) --> you will see the coordinate as Bearing/Distance (000°/000) Wingman i) CDU to OFFSET (UFC: FUNC 4) ii) Change to WP 2049: Bullseye as reference Ready to copy: Enter xxxyyy --> OSB8 --> NAV points Playing: DCS World Intel i7-13700KF, 64GB DDR5 @5600MHz, RTX 4080 ZOTAC Trinity, WIN 11 64Bit Prof. Squadron "Serious Uglies" / Discord-Server: https://discord.gg/2WccwBh Ghost0815
Digital Aura Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 i know five ways to share targets between A-10C to A-10C (both client)... Thank you so much!! 5.) mwd2 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Thank you so much!! This method is somewhat unclear... it looks clunky and confusing, what is the purpose of Hook BULL? on your TAD, on OSB 18, you have HOOK Own, if you push it, HOOK Bull will show up. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/warthog/?PAGEN_2=2 Playing: DCS World Intel i7-13700KF, 64GB DDR5 @5600MHz, RTX 4080 ZOTAC Trinity, WIN 11 64Bit Prof. Squadron "Serious Uglies" / Discord-Server: https://discord.gg/2WccwBh Ghost0815
