ENO Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I know at least one person in the past had his refueling receptacle slaved to some common key combination unbeknownst to him (can't remember the exact scenario) and turned out he was trying to do this with his refueling door open- resulted in the same problem. Possible? "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art

MatzWarhog Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Alternatively you could press TMS down long to set your steerpoint as the SPI and then press China hat forward long to slave all your senors (including TGP and Mavs) to that SPI. Ah! This I shall try!!! Thanx! Matz AMD FX8350 @ 4.2Ghz x 8, Asus M5A99FX Pro UEFI Board, 16Gb RAM @1600Mhz, EVGA GTX660 2Gb DDR5, 120Gig Corsair SSD SATA3 Boot Drive, Dual Corsair SSD FORCE 60Gig for gaming, TM Warthog HOTAS and Cougars, Saitek Proflight Pedals, TrackIR 5 w/Pro Clip, and WAY Too much time on my hands. :pilotfly:
Fakum Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 For clarification purposes, please correct me if I am incorrect: TMS Down Short= Reset SPI to Steer Point TMS Down Long= Cancel Current SPI Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
Eddie Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 For clarification purposes, please correct me if I am incorrect: TMS Down Short= Reset SPI to Steer Point TMS Down Long= Cancel Current SPI TMS Aft Long = Set SPI as steerpoint The function of TMS Aft Short will depend on the current SOI. There is no "reset SPI" or "cancel SPI".
Fakum Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Yeah, I think we are almost on the same page,,, your use (and probably others) of the word "AFT" is equal to "Down",,,,, in other words, when your physically looking at that button on the stick and you push it to the 6 oclock position, its considered Aft or Down,,, Im personally referring to it as Down instead of Aft. When I tap TMS down to the 6 oclock position, it will reset my SPI to Steer Point. I going to have to go back and see why I have my Cougar Profile stating that holding it down Long cancels my current SPI? Sorry if I confused anyone. howie87 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 When you HOLD TMS down it will reset your SPI to the Steer Point. Tapping TMS down will perform different functions depending on SOI.
Fakum Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Yes, thanks for chiming in on this,, After reviewing functions I have found a chart I downloaded a couple years back, It states for TMS Down Functions: If TAD = SOI, function = Reset Cursor If TGP = SOI, function = Boresight TGP If HUD = SOI, function = Cage TGP to TW Aim 9 Missle Step Mav Missle Step Then, in BOLD RED (indicating holding long) it says " Slave TGP to Steerpoint" I have to revisit this and apparently reconfigure my Cougar Profile after I see how if functions after I specifically test out the characteristics of operation. Thanks guys Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle

Thanks guys Those are the functions of china hat aft, not TMS. Do yourself a favour, forget whatever chart you're using and just look in the DCS manual.
Fakum Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 damit! Your right,, and thats what the cahrt says. I goofed again and was reading and typing the wrong info, should have said: TMS Down (AFT) If TAD = SOI, function = Unhook If TGP = SOI, function = INR Track If HUD = SOI, function = IFCC SPI Aim 9 Missle Break Lock Mav Missle Ground Satabilize Then, in BOLD RED (indicating holding long) it says " SPI to Steerpoint" Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle

Berndt Mangler Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) I had Issues with my Laze, I read some where that the laze will heat up and go off for cool down and come back up, I'm swearing I noticed this modeled, as I was "Both" at night with NVGs on doing gun strafes. my laze wouldn't work for the next path but latter it worked fine. it turned out I had PC issues unrelated to any of this. Sooo.. could you be lazing something too long? and it that even modeled???... Hansolo Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Spokejockey. This may not be the issue but I have noticed this as well. Found out that I had my flaps set for M/R and ocationally I slowed down enought for the flaps to set. I knew that I can't fire Mavs when flaps are set, but this also applies to laser. Just a suggestion, Lead  Cheers Hans 132nd Virtual Wing homepage & 132nd Virtual Wing YouTube channel My DCS-BIOS sketches & Cockpit Album
Berndt Mangler Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Good find, that gets me too, it will not be our last either, I've learned to just check the flaps before I go in. Also when I take off I say over and over...gear, flaps, lights till I get them all in check. Dejjvid Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Is 1644 a valid laser code?
