I am SO fricken sick of going through my server logs, looking at people moaning and whining that everything isn't exactly the way they want it... the disrespect, the negativity, the profanity...

 

It is absolutely no wonder to me why people lock up their servers to smaller groups of people they enjoy flying with.

 

Yes, the sim needs work. Yes, attention needs to be paid to multiplayer... Where do you start? Multiplayer is apparently a small part of the issue and likely will remain so until it is fixed and more reliable. But it won't get the attention it needs until the demand increases... but it won't increase until it gets fixed.

 

So we do the best we can and try to find new and creative ways of exploring the parts of the sim that DO work...

 

Well, at least- SOME of us are doing the best we can. Others just want to point out the obvious and b1tch about how everyone else is doing it wrong.

how about at least trying to maintain dedicated servers so the people that give you money and thus feed your family can play the damn thing without bending at the knee to every private user that has a server?

 

 

Where the hell are the multilayer servers at? You tout this as a multilayer game very aggressively and yet if all the players took down their severs then you would lose those bragging rights.

I do have an opinion. Just like you. For someone looking for so much discussion to solve problems you are awfully dismissive. Which can only mean one thing - you are less interested in helping than just being a PITA.

 

Again :shrug: - congrats - you can't fly the A-10C worth a crap, but you are a successful troll. I'm sure there is a sim out there somewhere for you (I'd try Maxis)...

Did you read your original post? And my original reply? Your "issues" have more to do with your attitude than the gameplay issues that are there. If you weren't such a jerk you'd probably have a dozen servers, private or otherwise, that you could play on with ease. Something tells me you've been nixed from most anyway if this is you demonstrated attitude.

 

I think EA servers are probably big enough for you to mix in well with the lowest common denominator - I'd start there.

 

Here, you'll almost always find constructive responses to constructive criticism. Yours doesn't even come close to the threshold of being worth a reasonable response.

 

And with that..I'll let you win.

This is what the forum does.

 

It is intended to find and fix issues but people only use it to troll, threaten, or go so far of topic it loses it's traction..

 

 

Everyone should stick to topic and just include ideas on how to fix them.

 

 

 

anything else is just trolling... and I will continue to treat trolls with a dismissive attitude to keep this thread going in the right direction...

Ok Solutions...

 

On a quiet night in Sim Country you can hear "DCS RUST".

 

 

I am tired of hearing crickets singing, where is the community? What is DCS doing about growing the members so we can actually have people to fly with.

 

Asking in a respectful manner usually kills the crickets, try the multiplayer forum, find a group of people that share your play style, have you tried places like Hoggit?

 

I tried flying for the first time in over a month and only found one server with TS3 and active users. This is a big deal for me and do not care to play without other users. You have to communicate with other players in this type of game.

 

The only server I found had 2 other people flying and they were in KA-50's. I fly the A-10c and found it impossible to do so cause of the damn Perry off-shore would lock-on as soon as I climbed to 1200 feet after take-off.

Most missions will have something about them that will require you to adapt your tactics. If you dont want to adapt your tactics you will probably need to create a mission of your liking and host it yourself.

 

You needed a SU-25 to take that thing out and I do not have the experience with those. These are the issues that face DCS and no one seems to care because all the veterans (TROLLS) like it the way it is cause they have squads they play with on scheduled times.

Again, mission design, if you dont like it find or create one you do like, and if needed, host yourself.

 

We need dedicated servers for multilayer, monitored and maintained by DCS. The user servers have missions that are intended to be difficult and challenging for the veteran squads when they fly together. What in the hell kind of chance do the new users who are forced to pug small teams of 2 or 3 who rarely all join voice chat have to enjoy the game as intended.

 

Cry all you want trolls but this is the fact, this is entertainment and not some sort of elitist training camp. We came here to enjoy flying and not to cater to your whims. So, do not tell me to join a squad cause I could care less about your hoops.

Dedicated Server tools have been stated as in the works, ED maintaining their own servers, I dont see that happening, their development costs to profits ratio is probably a little different than someone like EA.

 

Only 30 people online now.

 

We can severely discount that number due to the strange numbers of servers that are niche, not to mention the ones that are clearly for people who speak French, Russian, and God knows what those others are.

A lot of those people also speak English, discounting people by language seems like part of your problem, many squadrons are multinational, your attitude towards those languages and the people who speak them probably arent winning you any points, and are going to limit your opportunities to fly with a greater number of people.

 

 

Shall we discount that with the number of servers that ping us out right as we manage to get the inertial navigation system aligned?

 

If it is not one thing it is another, judging by the issues DCS is focused on they only seem concerned with keeping the current members happily fed, not finding and keeping new ones.

Lighten up and relax, yes DCS World has some issues, but they are being worked on, it falls on us to build the community... this isnt a good exercise in community building...

AFAIK, ED is working on the dedicated server. What more do you want?

 

I also find it strange that you assume the MP statistics are the all important indicator of how ED's business is doing (which is what really matters to ED not your individual happiness). Perhaps their sales are doing just fine and most people just don't want to play MP.
