I'm ok for trees, as it's only a sprite, but for buildings, i already stated that it has saved my life in deployment campaign. i've done a quick vid about a Roland's line of sight. It can see me, then i hide behing a building, and he forgets me. dave4002000 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Not sure what you are reporting as a bug here? Buildings and terrain block LOS. Trees do not. It's been that way for as long as i can remember. Actually, i have no problem with it, so i won't report it as a bug. ARM505 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 It looks like (in true computer-like fashion) the LOS is calculated from the radar dish, but the missile (being lower) hits the building, ie the Roland AI doesn't comprehend that even though he can see you, his missiles will never hit you. Is that what you're saying?

I'll have to try this out for myself with the Clear Tkvarcheli mission, trying to evade being hit by a missile is a real challenge there. Trees on the other hand are a different matter and they don't block LOS. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Erforce Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 Non clipping trees and buildings not breaking AI line of sight ....pretty big problem for a combat heli sim seeing as building and terrain masking is a standard tactic and not running in to shit like trees and powerlines is a major objective for all missions... ...high hopes for "edge" here..... I read this in BaD CrC 1.2.4 12547 lol thread. I think i've read this elsewhere too, not in BS section. thank you for your feedback. About the MIM-115 not hitting me there's some reason : - Yes, its sensor height is higher than its actual launcher - I'm deep into its min range. (Roland is deadly between 1.5 - 8km ) - Roland is bugged (but shhhhhh, it's a secret, my guide is not ready yet) (it ignore minimum range and... has unlimited ammo :D) But IMHO, trees does nothing at all. i've been shot throught trees many times. OP Question solved, thank you again. => Patch did not break Building line of sight => You can safely hide behind a building But be warned, SAM need direct line of sight. It's no the case about shells.
