  1. While technically a Viper campaign, "Keeping the bear at bay" is a great example of routine missions while providing great air intercept practice. Most flights are just intercept, identify then escort out of the area. Occasionally, it turns hostile and you get into a fight but it's all completely random. So you have no idea what you're getting into. Might be worth a look to see if swapping the F-16 to an F-18 is possible. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328036/
  2. Sedlo, you are a DCS god sir(or ma'am). All of your missions and campaigns are top notch. Thank you for all your hard work. Maybe I missed a trigger, but is there supposed to be any more radio activity on mission 1 after the Mig goes home and we're told to return to the carrier? I switched Comm1 to carrier freq after not hearing any radio traffic for a while and just landed normally with my wingman with no further mission interaction. After exiting the mission, I only had a score of 50 with no completion and only an option to fly mission 1 again. Just wondering what I did wrong here
  3. Could he be prioritizing the targets further away due to perceived "threat level"? Currently, George will list targets in order of what he thinks is the most dangerous(How he determines this, i have no clue). Not in order of distance. George's target list still needs a lot of work(vehicle type categories, vehicle identification, estimated range, etc.) Sometimes you just have to bring up his TADS video on one of your screens and scroll through his target list to find exactly what you're looking for. Clumsy, for sure, but i haven't noticed him missing targets completely.
  4. I second this statement! I would love to purchase the stl files from you. Of course, it would be to only make my own setup and not try to sell them to others because I'm not a scumbag
  5. The landing method I've been using for years in BMS, and now DCS is this: Line up the 2.5° pitch ladder and the FPM to the runway threshold Establish on speed AOA Upon crossing the runway threshold, pull the FPM up to the departure end of the runway Slightly increase power to arrest descent, then idle Touchdown on mains, hold gun cross at 10° until 100kts
  6. Bill, unless there is something seriously wrong with the coding for the cooler doors you shouldn't have to take them out of the auto position. At high altitudes those doors should be almost fully shut at any normal airspeed. The more you open those doors, the more drag you are creating.
  7. I started laughing as soon as i read the thread title because i knew exactly what it was. If that's true, then that makes this even more hilarious!
  8. Even though i'm not a fan of the CH Products joysticks, i have to say their Pro Pedals have served me well for many years. I've had the same set for over 6 years and they are still going strong. At this rate, i'm starting to think they are going to outlast my Cougar..lol. I've only ever used them on carpet, but i've never had any issue with them sliding around during use. I don't fasten or secure them in any way. I'd love to know how someone figured out that using an ice cube works like that..lol. I mean, was some guy's wife complaining about the carpet and he was like "hell, i don't know..just put an ice cube on it"?
  9. Haha...no, i've had the dodosim for years. It took me quite a while to get comfortable with it, as well.
  10. With Central Trimmer unchecked, the sim will wait a specified number of milliseconds after a press of the force-trim button before allowing the cyclic to respond to joystick inputs. If you don't center your joystick fast enough, it could lead to unwanted cyclic inputs making the helicopter oscillate. With Central Trimmer checked, the sim waits for you to return your joystick to it's calibrated center before allowing the cyclic to respond to joystick inputs again. This removes the unwanted cyclic input issue. But might introduce other issues if your joystick is not calibrated properly. The DodoSim 206 is an incredible add-on. I've spent many hours flying around Orbx areas with that one :) The trim in the 206 is similar to having your Ka-50's Central Trimmer option unchecked. You don't HAVE to use the central trimmer if you don't have a force feedback joystick. It just depends on what you are more comfortable with. I flew without it for a long time. Once i started using it though, i liked it a lot more.
  11. The big question is, did it have LAU-88's with 3 Mavs loaded on all 11 stations? :megalol:
  12. Please read the links in this thread to understand how the force-trim system works: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35444 The Central Position Trimmer Mode changes what YOU have to do with the joystick after pressing the trim button. It doesn't change what the helicopter does. What you are describing is exactly what is supposed to happen when you have the Central Trimmer Mode turned on and press the force-trim button while in flight. The cyclic will ignore ALL inputs until you physically return your joystick and rudder pedals back to their center position. Trim-reset should only be used on the ground after landing. Never in flight.
  13. I, honestly, have never used the carb heat in DCS. However, in the real world, you need to switch from ram to sheltered air before turning the heat on for it to have any effect. If you are running sheltered with heat and the carb temp still doesn't increase, then that is a programming issue within the DCS P51.
  14. Not sure what you are reporting as a bug here? Buildings and terrain block LOS. Trees do not. It's been that way for as long as i can remember. The video is quite amusing if you think about the guy in the Roland, though. He's probably blue in the face from swearing at you so much...lol.
