Mt5_Roie Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Problem is that most joysticks are self-centering...so you need to disable the centering spring to fix that. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
WannaBeGnome Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 Hi, I have another question. Is there any High input usb interface card? I found B256A13. Is there any other?
Mt5_Roie Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Not that I"m aware of. But that's a nice one. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
agrasyuk Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 USB game controllers are inherently limited to 32 buttons. they can have some Hat inputs on top of that to partially bypass this Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project
WannaBeGnome Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 If joystick controllers are limited to 32 buttons, how does B256A13 have 256?
metalnwood Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 looking at the page for the card it is using windows support for 128 buttons, not everything supports this though but DCS does. To get 256 buttons it shows up as two separate joystick controllers in windows with the other controller having the rest.
WannaBeGnome Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 So, it isn´t limited to 32 buttons..., ok stop OT, I just want to find any other card like this
agrasyuk Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 If joystick controllers are limited to 32 buttons, how does B256A13 have 256? As was said the 256 shows up as 2 virtual controllers and from what I understand is not within standard spec . the 32 inputs on both bodnar cards and gpwiz offering is not an arbitrary number. other choice for high input capacity is probably open cockpit cards but that will get quite expensive + adds another component to worry about Anton. Gadroc Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 The limitation is only with Microsoft's built in "control panel". DirectX supports many more, as a matter of fact I'm pretty sure brydling had a test firmware which showed up as 256 inputs on one controller in Helios. 32 is a legacy number which is not real anymore, it's just stuck around as older games may have that limitation built in.
0utLAW Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Check out my two threads. The cost for everything was about $1000. That includes; TrackIR(a MUST), Siatek X52PRO, 3 GroovyGameGear boards, print-out of baclit panels, 1/4 in. White translucent acrylic, various toggle switches and buttons, LED strip lighting. Thrustmaster Cougar Pack(another MUST). material for making the boxes(1/4 in. MDF 3x 2x4 sheet) and gloss white and primer grey paint. You can make your pit boxes any way you want but the concept should still transfer over for back lighting. JG14_Smil Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 How large and how much function do you want your cockpit to have? You need to start picking and choosing if you intend to get it down to 'only' 128 switch leads. (not being a smart-arse, Bad CrC and my cockpits both have well over 300 switches in use and Helios can eat them up like candy when you start using the bindings). I can wire up well over 600 leads (bring on that Ka-52!), but I have been collecting expensive hardware for years. I am glad I did it now.
JG14_Smil Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Keep your eyes open for EpicUSB and expansion module. There are probably people that own them and probably don't even know what to do with them any more and if you can get them at a decent price, you make the biggest score in pit-building.
