Ratfink Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 All have A-10C, BS2, P-51, FC3, currently at version 1.2.4.12913 and activated some time ago. I had a couple of quick missions with P-51, and after about the third the messages popped up saying that each module (in turn) needs activation. So I clicked 'activate' and it said that the product(s) were already activated. Has anyone else had this? Ratfink Posted June 8, 2013 Author Posted June 8, 2013 Thanks TimeKilla, I checked just the A-10C activation at http://proactive.star-force.com/2.0/activate.php That confirmed that no activation was used. EtherealN Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 This can happen when the local system gets a bit confused by the registry. It then asks for a check, and as a part of this it collects a hardware hash on your computer (basically "converting" your hardware components to a hashcode profile). When you then transmit, it checks with the server and finds that your key is already registered with that hashcode (or one similar enough) and says "oh oops, sorry, didn't need to active" pretty much. (Note: hardware hashcode doesn't mean the server will know what your computer has or anything like that, it's a purely mathematical operation similar to dual-key encryption techniques where being able to "decipher" doesn't mean you are able to "cipher". The harware profile is served by the OS itself with a simple request that the system has no control over - this is why OS reinstall can make your system look "new" even if it is physically the same computer. One of thedrawbacks of not having more aggressive deep-level protection with drivers, but this is an option ED decided to abstain from out of respect for customer privacy.) Ratfink Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 Thanks Etherealn, but I have made no changes to the system other than Windows updates. I'm sure it's no problem, just a bit annoying CORSAIR 5000D AIRFLOW Mid Tower | AMD RYZEN 7 9800X3D | G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo EXPO RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C30 6000MHz | ASUS ROG X870E-E GAMING WIFI | Gigabyte RTX5080 Gaming OC 16GB | 4TB Lexar NM790 M.2 PCIe 4.0 | Seasonic Prime TX-1000 1000W 80 Plus Titanium Modular Power Supply | Lian Li Galahad II Trinity AIO 360mm | Meta Quest Pro | TM HOTAS Warthog | Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals | Win 11 Home | Asus PG348Q 34" 3440x1440 Monitor | Bose Companion 3 2.1 Sound

Waits Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 This is happening to me as well...almost every time I start up DCS: World...and then again when I begin A-10C. Any way to correct this?
EtherealN Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Do you have any Virtual Machines running or similar? galevsky06 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Absolutely nothing.... Dual boot with Linux, but on different SSD, so Win7 ignores the other. It happens suddenly, during two flights (recursive mission design+ testing), RTB to desktop and need to reactivate the whole set of modules. In the DCS interface, all modules looks activated
winz Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Were you holding any keys down? Holding Shift while starting the Sim part (when the gui closes and the mission starts to load) brings up the starforce activation window. 1 The Valley A-10C Version Revanche for FC 3

Holding Shift while starting the Sim part (when the gui closes and the mission starts to load) brings up the starforce activation window. Ah.... possible (due to Warthog keys mapping). Let me chek with no profile loaded :music_whistling: You could be my hero :megalol:
galevsky06 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 winz :clap_2: It was SHIFT key.... thks

PhoenixBvo Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Thanks Winz. I found this thread looking for the solution to my reactivation window problem. And it was the Warthog mapping producing a shift key press. In my case it was especially troublesome as I run with SoftTH in fullscreen mode. This causes the mouse cursor problem where you can't click in the cockpit because windows has held onto the mouse. It was rather frustrating, so I'm very glad you posted the solution here!
