IonicRipper Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I'm looking for something like this as well. Would be very helpful. i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
jay43 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I think we really need to wait until the door gunners AI is working as in a hot lz landing they would be laying down suppressive fire all the way in and out, peppering the lz should help but it tends to alert them of your position so try to sneak in and out. The first troops on the ground should punch a hole for you but they just seem to group hug each other and barely move from insertion. For example I have inserted troops on the mission Airmobile, first drop of 11 did open fire but after I had inserted 44 to the same position they just sat around the camp fire singing songs hugging each other and not advancing which I think is a limitation of the troop AI. Eagles may soar high but weasel's don't get sucked into jet engines. System Spec. thrawn Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Well obviously when you dropped 44 they got real cozy with each other. I mean there's only 12 seats available.
Troutish Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I'm pretty disappointed that I bought this sim without active door gunners. I'd like to make missions for slicks but there is no point without the ability to suppress enemy around the Liz. I'm contenting myself so far with just doing milk runs....
IonicRipper Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Don't forget its still a Beta. Full version will (should) have active AI gunners. i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I made 4 trips first boots on the ground 11 Next boots on the ground makes 22 3rd drop makes 33 and 4th drop makes 44 troops all having a bbq and playing volley ball on the beach wtf why are you all just standing there move shoot something i'm getting shot at while you guys just hang out. 311Gryphon Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 It would be nice to have better AI and an Operation Flashpoint style waypoint/trigger/synchronization mechanism. It was very easy in that game to have AI load in your helicopter (or in an AI helicopter), move to the LZ, and either you or the AI would land the chopper and the AI would jump out. The beautiful thing was you could then tell the AI where to go through the waypoints, and even how to line up and how to behave. It was very easy for the mission creator but very powerful in terms of mission creation. It could also be used with very simple scripts to do fast rope insertions, low hover insertions, ladder insertions and extractions, and customization extractions (player can click on the map or pop smoke and the script would trigger the helicopter to come to that location and load the units then fly back to a predetermined point or another map click point for unloading). It was great. Hopefully in the future we can have at least some of that type of functionality. It would greatly enhance the mission creation potential and probably some multiplayer potential as well. http://www.youtube.com/user/311Gryphon i7-8700, 32 GB DDR4 3000, GTX 1080 TI 11GB, 240 GB SSD, 2TB HDD, Dual (sometimes Triple) monitor, TM Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pro Combat Pedals, TrackIR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
