Hello everyony

i have bought a CD-Version of A-10C several months ago and now i want to integrate it into my DCS World Installation. I downloaded the A-10C Modul (Vers. 1.2.5) from the DCS website and when i try to install it i get the message "DCS World vers. 1.2.5. required", but that is the actually installed version of my DSC World. I tried to install it into my Steam Installation of DSC World and into a separate Folder - the same message. What`s wrong ? Can anyone help ?

Thank you für your answers

Download DCSW 1.2.5

Install it

Download DCS:A-10C Module 1.2.5

Install it

Use your A-10C Serial to Activate the Module.

If it's not detecting your install, something in the registry is missing.

You need to download the module > http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/dcs_a10c_warthog/

or the module manager from the main menu [ingame]

use the CD key you have from your hard copy.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

I have tried this several times - it did not work. Version of DCS World and A-10C are the same. When i try to install the A-10c - Module i get no suggestion for a destination folder and when i try to install it into a seperate folder or the DCS World - folder within my Steam folder i get the error "DCS World vers. 1.2.5 required!" That is the DCS version i have installed ! What is wrong ? Any Suggestions what to do ?

Thank you

It shouldn't ask for destination folder..

EDIT: Can you download it through the module manager?

"DCS World 1.2.5.16184 must be installed"

DCS World Should be

/<LocalDrive>/Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/.

Modules go into that same directory when installing.

If you have DCSW Installed VIA Steam, then you have to Wait for Steam/ED to reach the Agreement to use External Licenses Keys to Purchase the Modules on Steam.

As the Steam version does not have a Module Manager.

i did indeed download dcsw from steam. are you saying i should download it from the dcs main site instead? i'll try that anyway.

thanks all for being so helpful!

For now, you can only use the Steam DLC version of the modules with a Steam DCS install.

If you have bought A-10C from a source other than Steam, you have to download the DCS:W client from digitalcombatsimulator.com

We'll have to wait till ED comes to agreement with Steam/Valve to allow modules bought out of steam to be installed in it.

not sure i understand this, though:

You cant use the ED Installer to install modules onto steam, because:

A. Steam Manages it's own Files,

B. Steam Updates it's own files.

C. Installing Externally to a Steam folder doesnt add Licenses to the Steam Library

So if you install the module via an External Installer outside of Steam,

There would be no License/Install under the Steam Library,

So when it updates DCSW, it will not Update the module with it. Causing problems.

If/when an Agreement is reached Between ED and Steam regarding activating external licenses,

It will most likely involve using the "Activate Product On Steam" Menu Option, and pasting your License Key, and it will Link/Download the Module-DLC and add it to your Library.

For the Time being, if you have Licenses purchased outside of Steam,

You Must Use the ED Installer and Run DCSW Standalone to use them.

ok....

so i went to download all 5 parts of dcs world from their website only to realise the #2 part was corrupted/didn't download. it did work out through their torrent link, though.

i have an updated version of dcs world now on my pc.

i already downloaded the a10c module from their site, too. but this now won't install either. i can't find another installer.

can't install a10c 1.2.5.16184 into newer dcs world 1.2.5.16508. please, download a10c 1.2.5.16508 installer.
my a10c version is 1.2.5.16184.220_226.exe

now what??? this is getting more and more confusing.

their compatibility of hard copy and download content is just crazy complicated to sort out......

There was an Update that came out today, which puts the installers on the website a version behind.

They usually catch up a day or 2 later.

There are 3 Ways to resolve this:

-1.

Wait for the new Installer for A-10C to build an be online to download

-2.

Start a Command Prompt

Type: CD\

ENTER Key

Type: CD Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bin\

ENTER Key

Type: DCS_updater.exe install A-10C

ENTER KEY

It will then download and install the latest A-10C build.

-3.Paste the following into notepad:

DCS_updater.exe install A-10C

Save as InstallA-10C.bat (make sure it doesnt save as a .bat.txt, change file type to "all files).

Place file in the DCS World/bin/ folder, double click it.

it will download and install the latest A-10C build.

Once installed, start a quick mission with the A-10C, and during loading the Activation Box will come up, paste the code, activate.

With the frequent updates after a major version, it's easy to get version mismatches on the installers,

Trust me, once installed, it's no longer a problem, as the updater will keep it up to date automatically.

I think it is meant to be a *.bat file instead of a *.bin file, no?

Being an old player returning, I do not have the activation keys to my Boxed Warthog A10c and downloaded Black Shark 1 and updated 2. New computer now, still have the old, but that computer had issues.

When I played DCS World before under the name water4fuel, the Dollar signs were removed from both these game entries. Additionally, both were registered under the water4fuel name under the 1 account rule. I have requested my password for water4fuel, but 36 hours later still to hear.

How much are the new activation keys?

so,

in the last days i flew a bit with the a10c (my hardcopy installation) and just now thought to hop into dcs world and fly the su25t.

without having touched anything a window pops up asking for my a10c serial number. great, i thought, there's the expected update but this is what i get:

Activation denied by server. Invalid Hardware Code. Make sure the Serial Number used is valid for the product you are trying to activate, generate a new Hardware Code and try again.

after some research i followed your suggestion:

-2.

Start a Command Prompt

Type: CD\

ENTER Key

Type: CD Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bin\

ENTER Key

Type: DCS_updater.exe install A-10C

ENTER KEY

It will then download and install the latest A-10C build.

the program conducted an update and when i started dcs world i had the a10c button without the $-symbol.

hooray, i thought :-)

i selected a quick mission, selected the a10c and i received the following error message when i was prompted to enter my serial number:

Unable to run the application due to integrity fault of the Activation Key. Re-enter a valid Activation Key or re-activate the application.

the mission then does start up but only in observer mode.

again, i have the a10c installed from a cd plus dcs world from the steam download. i also downloaded the a10c module from the dcs main site but couldn't install it because of dcs world having a newer build than their a10c module.

any suggestions, please?

any suggestions, please?

1. Deinstall your CD version of A-10C.

2. Deinstall DCS World you downloaded from the website.

3. Do the windows registry cleanup as described here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94531

4. Install DCS World. Do NOT install the CD version of A-10C

5. Install A-10C module similar to what is described here (replace FC3 with A-10C ofc.): http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1839006&postcount=9

6. Start a quick mission with your A-10C. When asked, enter your serial number of your CD version of A-10C.

7. profit!

You CAN try all this first without the steps 2. and 4.

The point is, the registry entries of the CD version are messing things up. The CD version must be gone therefore.

Point 5 is relevant as the installation of the downloaded module is not of the right version atm. Sadly. But the update method should give you the right version which can be installed.

Difficult, I know. Good Luck!

Hi

I`m also a newbie with DCS world. Pleeeese can i requested assistance?

I have purchased modules, but can no longer connect using module manager & therefore cannot upgrade my current 1.2.4 version. I have also tried installing my P51 1.2.4, but there is a conflict, as I have The world version 1.2.5.

I`ve tried a fresh install with firewall off, deleted all temp files & saved game files & everything else relating to DCS. I still cannot connect & therefore my purchases are rendered useless.

after a month of taering hair out, I`m still waiting for a reply from DCS support (6 tickets open) & no response!!

As a last resort, I`m hoping that someone on the forums will be able to assist.

Many thanks

The module manager uses the same login data that gives you access to the web shop. Are you able to login there?
