Flim Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Hey guys, I'm going to release my A-10 cockpit files for free.... but it will be under a general license which means for personal use only!... My old f-16 pit was pretty much copied and is being sold, so I trust you guys not to make me come after you! lol I'm currently getting the front console files laid out so you can have them cut... This thread will be updated with the side consoles very soon. Also, I will offer cnc services if you want the parts cut, so once I get an idea on cnc time, I'll post pricing. Glider and I are working together, so panels offered on the site will fit this pit... so stay tuned. Front console... built for a single 27 inch lcd ( AOC I2757fh ). Mfd cutouts are for the real size mfd's ( more info coming), but the TM's will work. Files ( coming shortly ) 1
nobrot Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Ahh Flim, its all about timing, I am already cutting y2kiahs, but yours looks great. I am certain there will be lots of interest. Real world pilot, budding virtual world hog driver... My Build Thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1855253#post1855253
BHawthorne Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) Looks good. I'll probably buy this next as a cnc kit. I'm still working on my seat kit. I'm taking my time on it as I'm not that proficient with woodworking as I am on metal. :) Edited September 3, 2013 by BHawthorne
Flim Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 Hopefully I'll have the front console up tomorrow... I need to nest out the parts.
BHawthorne Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) Cool, looking forward to it. :) You mentioned F-16 plans too? Are those something you're still selling? Edited September 3, 2013 by BHawthorne
robump Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) I do have 16 plans... um.. Really???? Would be very interested in these..... in the first stages of putting a viper simulator together :D Edited September 3, 2013 by robump
Flim Posted September 7, 2013 Author Posted September 7, 2013 Front console ... still adjusting parts, but getting there!
BHawthorne Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Looking good. Anything special I need to do to accommodate my Cougar MFDs? Will it have an alternate nested file for those?
Flim Posted September 22, 2013 Author Posted September 22, 2013 update... btw yes above, there is a cover needed if you plan on using TM mfd's. Slowly getting there... had to work a lot this week, so it slowed the process...
Miles Vorkosigan Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Just wanted to say that it is a great thing that you are doing for the cockpit building community. Very few folks want to give their plans away free especially as I know the effort and work that goes into creating and prototyping them. Although I am not building an A-10, I am helping a buddy build his F-16 and eventually an F-18C pit. I release my plans for both the F-16 parts that I make and the F-18C plans that I have been working on over on Hornetpits.org. You seem hesitant to comment on the availability of your F-16 plans. Can you share any more information about those? Regardless, thanks to you from the pit building community in general.
Flim Posted September 22, 2013 Author Posted September 22, 2013 Thanks, on the f-16... I still have some things to do, but I should have it done before to long. I was trying to finish up the lose ends on the A-10 pit first.
Miles Vorkosigan Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 If you do open those up I would appreciate it. I have the files for the F-16 panels almost ready as well, I plan on posting them on Viperpits.org.
robump Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Thanks to you both, the prospect of some F16 plans is very exciting!
Miles Vorkosigan Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I am still working on the plans for the panels, I am setting them up to fake the backpanels using pockets for the switches, etc. I hope to get them finished this winter when I have more time. Last winter I designed and built USB ICP modules.
robump Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Ahhh i followed your thread closely on viperpits for your ICP. Hopefully entering into the world of CNC soon so hope to get some panels build using a similar method!
BHawthorne Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Checking in on this again. This seems to me to be what I should get since I went with the seat. Everything will fit together properly that way. Edited January 27, 2014 by BHawthorne
Evilfisher Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Hi all, Are these plans still available? I cant find any link or download. Cheers Evilfisher
iKyrThraad993i Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 Front console ... still adjusting parts, but getting there! What kind of wood is that you use to put in front of the gauges and stuff. Looking to use that for a button box.
