[CLOSED]Crashes to system shutdown

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have been having crashes that result in my system shutting right down, not crashes to desktop.

I have attached a crashlog. It is full of calls to 32bit stuff but I am running a 64bit system. I did a new install Aug 26th, is it possible I am running DCS World in 32bit?

It was a random type of crash, but I did notice every time I tried to fly the P51D in any mission editor flight would crash, usually right after the start of the mission. All drivers are up to date, no programs, other than TIR5 is running. I did have an update issue last month with the major security update issued by Microsoft. I did a restore and I thought things were all right but snice I posted the original post in this thread I decided to take my computer into my computer provider because of other windows issues so maybe that Windows problem maybe the problem.. When I get it back I will post if they found an issue...

Ok let us know, a crash like that seems strange, I havent heard of anyone else crashing that hard.

Really, guess you have't seen me learning to try and fly the Huey then.:joystick:

So it looks like my GTX 295 is failing...I had hoped to get to next winter with my setup but not to be...I am replacing it with an Asus GTX660 OC and because of all the new modules coming in the next little while also installing a Plexor M5 Extreme, 128 GB as a dedicated DCS drive. Should have it back tomorrow!

When I press exit, or disconnect, the software is behaving like it doesnt want to close, nothing from windows works, until some time after 20-40 seconds I manage to get control, launch the task manager, and force close the dcslauncher.exe. this is more than frustrating..

You should start your own thread and go a little deeper into your specs and such.

Thanks for your response, Mastiff put me on thoughts and Im doing a full system search, after that I ll do a fresh dcs install and a disc defrag and ill report back for any problems, thanks again.

PS: I am fixing PCs and laptops for a living (chip level repairs) and I am also a game enthusiast back from 1997 so I think I know some things about PCs, graphics cards and PC games.

Keep in mind the complete reinstalls won't touch that pesky Saved GAmes / DCS folder (unless you wipe that too when you uninstall).

I recommended it in the other thread too- but I'm going to emphasize that a lot of people who know a thing or two are suggesting a rename of that folder as a problem solving step. It's resolving a lot of issues...

Guys

Got my Computer back and DCS runs great with my new GTX 660 OC!!! Frame rates in the mid 60's, all old Mission Editor missions run perfect.

I now have a 128 GB SSD for DCS and other games so access speed is under 40 seconds.

Seeing as we are close neighbors, what would you recommend with respect to 1.26. Should I just run the updater? I know there are some changes to the configuration of the Huey so I should just delete my current Huey profile?
