Does the Mi-24 carry a laser? Both the AT-2 and AT-6 are radio guided.

There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.

The Mi-28 uses AT-9 (improved AT-6 from the Mi-24V and later variants) which is still radio command guided. It's hard to find details of the guidance improvements made here and if the laser is actually employed throughout the engagement.

Did you check which missile is actually used by the Mi-28 in game when engaging you as supposedly it can also use some other missiles (9K118 and a variant of Vikhr are mentioned on wiki; not reliable data, but still)?

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

Mi-28 doesn't use the same missile as the Mi-24.

But I agree that the elevate precision of the Mi-24 and BMP-2 cannon, both without laser ranging devices, is way too hight.

but the bmp-2 gives you a laser warning when its about to shoot you with its missile.

the game says AT-6 shturm for both helicopters, and also for some reason while mi-24 engages you from 6 or 7 km the mi-28 engages you from 1,500m like the ka-50 manual suggests, but i guess this is a DCS world problem.

Both helicopters can fire the same missile but the Mi-24 doesn't have a laser.

BMP-2 has a laser for range finding.

It doesn't mean the missile is guided by laser if you get the warning. It's for range finding to see if you are in range for engagement.

Well i guess you learn something new every day.

But then why does the BMP-2 only show up on the LWS when its about to shoot you with a missile, as well.
