How do you use your Track IR

Just wondered , whats the done thing for you guys.

For a long time I have been using Track IR with the lean forward as my zoom.

 

Now, i'm not so sure it's so great.

It's sure handy for spotting targets but can be annoying when you get fish eye.

Maybe i'll put the zoom onto a Mouse Wheel or assign it to a button or axis or key perhaps?

 

I just wondered what you guys did, every time I see a video online, their head tracking looks better than mine lol

 

Also do you guy use different pre sets for different aircraft?

I use a profile that I found somewhere on these boards.. and edited it to my liking.

I don't use TIR for zoom. It is on either an axis or a set of buttons, depending on my configuration.

I have zoom on a axis on my G940 throttle (a small wheel between throttle levers that feels similar to a mouse scroll wheel)

 

I have lean forward for leaning and also my Freetrack makes automatic smoothing when I am leaning forward. This helps when I need to have precision on clicking buttons.

 

Also I have modifiend my view.lua (for Huey and Mi-8 ) and server.lua for the rest so I have max zoom out 95-105 degrees (depending on plane) so fish eye effect is avoided.

I do not use TIR for zoon, I have zoom assigned to the slider on my Warthog stick. Using just a tweaked default profile for my liking.
